The humble seed
nature's greatest wonder
the origin of all creation
not just of the blushing flower

the first stirring of love
that sets the heart in flutter
of art and song and dance
of poetry in its unblemished splendour.
* inspired by a young woman's tattoo with the words 'burning seed'. We were travelling in the same tram an hour ago
Cherish the time
Set it to memory
Burn it into your soul
For it soon will be gone
As these sands of time
Pour out so quickly
Faster than we know
Leaving a hole
We're all waiting in line
With father times keeping
Life's ladder folds
At its choice of footholds
Cherish the time
Celebrate it freely
Ready, set, go
We're all going home
propel unrealistic ideas
love can destroy, even believers
love is a life sentence
love could be amputated in seconds
thinking about these roses in hindsight
I never saw the beauty, the light was too bright
lost in the waves of my thoughts

each hunch was on life support
every breath taken, sigh of hope
food for thought, each idea was a spiritual loaf

cardiac arrest, the departure of the heart
as the body and soul aren't in conjunction
relocate.
to a place where the sun wakes up to a fresh start
dawn kisses dusk to caress a weathered heart
her heart an epitaxy
crystal needles pierce the flash to create art
a procreation of violet pieces an amethyst
re-ignition at the confluence

from irregular patterns,  the beauty leaves the gods in awe
and muted the antichrist
the heart now swings like a pendulum
the rhythm is the silent serenade for the deaf

beth
for the girl with vines of lilac encircling her ribs,
like the ivy on the turrets of her castle;
she, with her gentle smiles and gentler hands,
walks confident, not proud,
speaks to be heard, not loud.

you've walked her floors and ran your fingers
through the tapestries she weaves
in the loose braids of her hair.
you kiss the hand of a princess,
and step on the toes of a queen.

for the girl whose elegance
knows more of the growing season,
than it sees of the green.
spends her love to grant you yours,
shares her wealth to make up for yours.

she withers in broad daylight,
her petals soaked in ammonium,
and your fingers reek pungence.
you begged to breathe more life into her,
and now, she suffocates on you.

for the flower girl,
in loving memory.
i refuse to let you forget. she deserved better. (24/10/17 - 16:34)

Torin
I always had a vision of you
You, dancing through the fire
The master composer
A long ago orchestra
Drowning on mercy
Say you know about me
I know about you
I know
I always had the thought of you
You, living in a dream
Space traveler
Carrying the fame
Calling for home
Say you know about me
Say you know
I know
I always have the sound of you
You, singing beautifully
Dying in your music
Singing all the same
Hero to the grave
Say you know about me
I know about you
I know
For Helene.

Ashes on the water, now.
Love's bones like dust downstream.
At least it got to see itself in our eyes,
Feel itself between hand holding hand

And whispered caresses.
From pillow talk to fists raised at
Concerts, glasses of Portuguese wine
On her balcony to the sound of magpies

We named our neighbours.
We were beautiful.
Began beautifully.
Ended gracefully.

I open hands that held hers and see
Nothing but skin worn by labour,
And air.
Ashes on the water, now.

Embers without a chance against rivers
Cold with melted mountain snow and
Unyielding differences.
Some loves drown with lungs too full

To cry; others float like a funeral-pyre-
Longboat into the night, ablaze.
King and queen, hand upon hand.
Crowns tied from fresh flowers,

We were beautiful.
Began beautifully.
Slid apart the way a glacier parts from
The hills; slowly, but with the force

Of its thousands of tons.
Ashes on the water,
Where the ghost of our union rests
Underneath the surface of our memories.

I will remember you.
Until the stars burn out, raining the
Dust of themselves like snow upon
These waters that always are moving.
Paint me like the burnt air.
Unwanted, careless and forcibly inhaled.

Paint me like the bruises on my chin.
Blue hued, swollen and new.

Paint me like blood.
Flowing and hidden, threatening to flood out.

Paint my pain.
No one else knows, I so desperately need to share.

In vain, paint me
In vain, paint me in vain.
