The Fall
Jonah C McNeil Jul 2014
It's called falling in love
Because every fall,

Has a bottom.

Loveless
Jonah C McNeil Jul 2014
Sometimes the worst
Is knowing
They didn't love you back...
That they didn't need you
Didn't want you
Didn't appreciate you
Didn't think of you
Didn't love you
Like you did them

What I Need
Jonah C McNeil Jul 2014
It's over
It's finally done
I can taste the finish of it
But it's my only release
Nothing else comes close

You become breathless
Even weightless
I need it
Or perhaps,
I desperately want it

It's not fair
To end it so close to the start
I feel this longing
For it to go on and on

Life in a nutshell,
*****.
But with this
****.

The world melts
My worries are gone
Just a tad more
But I hold off

For those hard days
For those dreadful nights
The waking nightmares
And fleeting dreams

It's on these days
On these nights
Where I sit back
Relax and...

Light another cigarette.

What A Rush
Jonah C McNeil May 2014
I stand there waiting
anticipation is a killer
really its all about faking
but right before its such a thriller

I here that magical sound,
and the lights come on
and now its going, now i'm bound
in a spell and the world is gone

It's just me and them,
they listen to all i say and see all i do
and that feeling is like a precious gem
until its time to finally say adieu

then the world is back
and the feeling is gone.
and it feels like an anxiety attack
because now i'm back to anon

but those precious moments are worth it
the world thinks i'm a cheater
because i will not submit
****, i love theatre!

To My Parents.
Jonah C McNeil May 2014
When I look into the mirror,
i dont know what i should see
my reflection is unclear
should i see the younger me?

The days have come and gone
the years have flown by
now its time to say bye dad, by mom
you've given me the tools i need to fly

When i look into the mirror,
i see myself for who i am
a young man full of excitment and fear,
but dont worry sir, madame

This is not a farewell,
but a thank you
it's a new chapter for me to excel
without you two i wouldn't know what to do

I love You Mom
I Love You Dad
mom, thanks for being so calm
dad, thanks for teaching me to add

When i look into the mirror,
i know what i see
something i know won't disappear
the love you have for me...
So I'm graduating soon and this is my ode to my parents at a beat night my school is having. Its also my first poem in quite sometime, and the first one I actually really want to share
