The sand tickles my ankles
As the breeze blows soft

The sun starts to makes its first peak from the end of the sea

I feel my feet dig into the crumbled bits of rock cooled by the night sky

I look ahead to see miles of endless water

My hair salty and tangled

But
Learning to let go
Of someone you long for
Is like an amputation
Of a part of your body
Or choosing little deaths
Every day

Learning to let go
Of someone you desire
Is as the loss of capability
Of your tastebuds
To taste food
Every day

Learning to let go
Of someone you want
Is the same as taking away
The Sun and Rain
To a growing flower
Every day

But
Learning to let go
Of someone you love
Is like the sight
Of a Rainbow after a storm
Bringing hope
Every day

there’s always so much that i want to say,
but society makes me keep it at bay.

what will they think if i blurt out that
check this out what a truck load of crap

instead i’ll sit quietly at the back and just listen
and keep what i know in case they all start trippin

then someone said, just let it all go.
you might help someone out you don’t even know

she said don’t let others rule over you
the battle is lost and won within you.

so, if you have something to say
say it with love and blow them away.

one kid shoots another
for expensive headphones
while the guy who put his name on them
sits in his beverley hills mansion
and counts the hundred dollar bills
obscene
