Star light, star bright,
The first star I see tonight;
I wish I may, I wish I might,
Have the wish I wish tonight*

Star light, Star bright,
Why have you failed me tonight
I wished with all my might
Begging for this wish tonight.

My innocence has washed away
The childish wonder
has lost its luster
fading into the dark night sky

Reality has kicked in
Time to grow up
Can't be the next peter pan
Can't live among the stars any longer.

Children are believing no more
Faries, mermaids, and all the glamour.
Pirates, Treaure, Damsels in destress,
children are forgetting, turning their backs

Those wishing stars have shattered
Falling to Earth like meteors.
Their twinkle has fizzeled out
Their magic blowing away in space.
First Poem in my Poetry Book "Shattered Fairy Tales"
Art
I remember when art was colouring within the lines
And making Christmas cards
To festivals it was confined
Art was messy and fun
It was paint and glitter
Glue and scissors
Art was not a subject regular
Not like numeracy, literacy or science
It was a non academic waste of time
An afterthought in the afternoon
Galleries were for Picasso
Theatre's for Shakespeare
And other blue bloods
Somewhere not everyone was welcomed
Creativity and imagination
Art became a journey of exploration
Different views and interpretations
Art is seeing the beauty in everything
It's moving it is still
It's lifelike and unreal
Sinister and peaceful
It sends a powerful message
It's a form of manipulation
And presentation
Close to the artists heart
Words and pictures
A form of expression
The freedom to do what you want
Art is autonomy
I watch a lady dance and hear the beads in her hair patter upon her bony chest.
I often think about kissing you
Her smile is wide like a crescent moon.
I wonder what your back would feel like against my palms
Her silhouette swims out in front of her,
I think about your hands on my thighs
circling endlessly like leaves over departed souls,
I want to bite your lip
soaring up and down; gloomy.
And just lie there naked with you
Her arms flick against it, tangled webs spinning.
Tell me everything you hate about the world
She moves like a dying flower caught in the wind.
Sometimes at night I think I can feel you
She snaps and decays against the cool misty air.
I roll over and you're not there
They are like fleeting clouds,
Just a wide area of emptiness
and I was their moon.
*alone.
I felt you
I felt your soul slide into mine
And our thoughts intertwine
In only a glance
Imagine what we could have if we took the chance
I have
   big dreams

        and a
            realistic mind.

You
     can
  only
         imagine
               the
  frustration.
Gets the best of me some times.
