Amelia
my name wrapped around your lips
I realized then what I was
addicted

my head soared higher
than any of those drugs
that I'd inhale

to forget you
and my addiction

From the time I was a little girl,
they warned me about
drugs and addiction,
but they forgot to warn me about one specific drug.
The drug that courses through my veins,
***** with my mentality,
seizes my life,
and leaves me feeling momentarily
fulfilled,
and undeniably
empty.
The drug that is your smile,
your touch,
you as a whole,
as a human being that is transformed into this chemical
that I inject into my bloodstream.
They should have warned me about that drug.
That addiction.

I noticed his hands today.
Nimble and full of promise.
Wicked and appealing.
I sat nearby.
Flustered and unfocused.
Each movement teasing me.
And he sat,
Unaware of the emotions he provoked.
The thought of his hands.
What they could be capable of,
Swirls through my mind even now.
And I tremble at the thought,
Of possibly finding out.

I am a wrinkle in a blouse;
I am a hand under a bridge;
I am the last leaf to fall
before the autumn goes.
I am both the observer,
and the unobserved.

Lines like luscious lips
That twist and tangle around my mind
Kissing my senses and igniting my inspirations
I play with your words
Day and night and fight my loneliness
My greatest strife
Fantasies tantalize the lids of my eyes
The stories
The raw emotions
Oh how I love the  poets

She swept down from the heavens
To find me
Then eyed me
Lashes long and eyes longing
She kissed like a Goddess
If Goddesses have
Long purple tongues
And swept me off of my feet
I almost fell for her then
But I could tell
It wasn't her
First time
And she had
Other men
Don't kiss a Giraffe if you don't want to be kissed back
