true beauty
danielle Feb 2018
she’s one of those eyes
who can see one’s true beauty
she’s one of those smiles
who can make your day fine

she believed in me
she built my own confidence
she introduced me to the best of me
she gave me faith as she danced

she said, have courage
she called me darling
i finally got out of that cage
because of her, i am here — flying

i proved that she’s the true beauty
for she sees the goodness of others
she have a bounden duty
it is to bring change in your life when you meet her

Midas Touch
danielle Feb 2018
His love for her's like the touch of Midas
Feelings that really made her feel golden
He gave her what she wanted, what he has
Only to prove his love to the maiden

They lay on the vast expanse of grass aye
Talking 'bout melodies they've listened to
Time never mattered, for them it's a lie
They ne'er chased their moments—they don't have to

Though years of their lives had already passed
They still found on each other's arms their home
He remained to be her love, her Midas
He remained with her even after gloam

Cyclopean stars, European skies
Serves as their children with love in their eyes

before you exit
danielle Mar 2018
nothing lasts forever
that’s what they always say
no one stays forever
everyone leaves after their stay

be memorable on someone’s life
make a difference before you exit
leave them not only with a smile but with a laugh
cause once you’ve left, it would be the end of it

ready
danielle Feb 2018
for so long
i put all my ***** together
trying to stop myself
to do something stupid
but now after so long
i’m ready to be with you forever
to be myself
to do something perfectly stupid

2am with you
danielle Nov 2019
its 2am and im writing you this poem,
you came across my head.
its weird because you usually don’t,
but here i am, writing poetry about you.

2am and im writing this poem.
its just me, my pen, journal, and this empty bed.
i admit, i am not like this — blunt.
i had a sharp tongue but something happened — you.

i remember how your arms became my home,
how we slow danced in the living room which you always led,
i loved how we listened to each other’s rants,
i loved the times that there was only a thing i needed — you.

funny how we’ve grown,
apart but there’s so much ahead.
this is no romantic poetry for my lad
this is my art of letting go of my thoughts of you.
