I am not immune to emotion
it strikes me like lightning
but can sicken me to my core
it can raise me
or beat me down to bleeding on the floor
when i'm open wide, with nothing left to hold
it can break me down to tears, and make my skin cold
i am weak, but so very strong
my mind says good, when my heart feels wrong
i'm not alright here,
i'm finding that in this world i have so much to fear
screaming is my sedation
and my mother gets this dedication
i was left alone when the most attention was required
all the wrong people were surely admired
I've been held by evil hands for far too long
now ill never know the difference between right and wrong
Love Blahs
~~~
love
blah, blah, blah,
love poems groaning bad,
blah, blah, blah, blah, blah scream
yet they keep on coming
coming on,
for despite the drowning pool,
of silly words
the hurricane burr
of love poems unending
cause
love is never
blah
not the finding
not the winning
not the losing
especially the losing
~~~

as we lay beside each other,

about twelve long inches apart,
both tablet-engrossed,
human flesh coffee cup holders,
I proffered this rejoinder/rejoin her:

"if you were closer,
I'd kiss you hard,"
but for now,

be satisfied with this my darling:

distance makes the heart grow fonder"

then she looked up, up, up,
removed her sound proofing earbuds,
asking the ceiling,

"what's that you said?"

~~~
as we lay beside each other,
the symphonic orchestra struck up
"The Human Cantata"
the sounds we frailties issue,
when thoughts course
throughout our bodies and minds,
sounds of melodic purring,
foot stomping, jumping for joy
drums and timpani,
violins cry soaring and moaning
and this particular vignette
of music never-ending
has never been recorded
till now
~~~

as we lay beside each other,

we lay inside each other,
the vines of new stories shoot
every which way,
and you contemplate
a poem title emendation,
why a mere three,
perhaps,

endless vignettes?

August 2015

one early morning
non-authentic self*
~~~
you have
never seen me,
I have never touched you
so ask me
am I
authentic?
am I based on facts,
accurate, reliable,
purposive & emotionally
accurate?
drill a core sample
into my essence
test it for
contamination, nutrients,
purity,
values on a scale measuring
human essentials
then throw all the results
in the garbage
if you want to verify my
authenticity,
drill down deeper
into my
poetry
it's contradictory
the way she acts and what she says to me
But was it a definitive answer?
You should go back and ask her.
Don’t tell me something
Unless you realize there’s nothing
I could ever possibly care about
That could come out of your mouth
Was what she said
So thanks, man, but I think it might be dead.
Why is 'might' your take on that?
I know how they work, she'll crawl back.
clearly
beer me
slant rhyme
I, parasite
Eating selves
For a while
For a night
Feeling low
Getting high
Gluttonous, contrite
you look like
you'd like
me
believe me,
I know my place.
paint my face
look behind me
just in case
play the part
Strange;
smart
side salad and a heart
deviate
secret date
guess again
**** and then
never sorry
friends worry
deeper
still a keeper
drinking pace
pointless race
sleep and then
burrow again
private head case
busy saving face
I'll have a whiskey and soda, thanks.
stream of consciousness
What is this
compulsion
to observe
the obscene
Obscure cannibal cases
clouding my search history
Torture ****, new keywords
clicking through the red rush
its over and over
what am I searching for
Here's wishing you a brighter blue
In hopes it brightens your tomorrows,
With a little less angry red
Which only brings about more sorrow.
White to keep you pure,
In your heart and in your thoughts.
Your Royal purple keeping you noble,
Regardless of the jewels you bought.
Green with envy, don't you see
You are everything you're meant to be.
Someday you'll be grey and wise
And live at last without chastise.
Leaving yellow in your fearful wake.
On life's battlefield mistakes are made,
While pink brings about a calming peace.
What colors can be drawn from these?
