Drifting on a meandering stream
where clover dance and ripples direct my thoughts
to the promises of a new day

I dream I am floating in your arms

as currents gently tug
playing solitaire in wishing hands
among glistening diamonds on the surface

I search for each desire’s realm

while my eyes wander to a place
long of sunrise sparklings
on soft apricot murmurs

Finding your fragrance on a cool wind’s whisper

my heart is drenched,
cleansed in an endless channel
of what your beauty brings to me

I rest in a shady spot among watercolor shadows

writing poetry,
penning my affections in ink traced lines,
renderings of how wonderful my life is

Since you have washed over me

leaving me breathless,
submerged far beneath dew drop shimmers,
saturated by your love

Sometimes to gauge a situation and get a clear perspective you need to turn away from proximity

When A Love Dies, you say you die,
But Honey!
Let Me tell you something,
I'm dying
Every
Second
of
the
day,
Feeling
the
Pain
every
second
of
the
Hour
on
hour
til
I
die
Because
My
Love
Is
In
The
Grave
And
I'm
Not
So the next time" Honey"
You tell me you died
because you got jilted

**Think about it!

Poetic T
You and me together,
We are as one, we are never apart
We are a wishing well
Coins tossed in, joined for life.
We are the opposites,
That attract,
The two wrongs,
That make a right,
We are meant to be apart.
But life has thrown a two sided coin
As one but never more apart,
You are my opposite
You are mine
But love was stronger,
Than that force that was trying
To pull our love apart.
I would love you for all time,
You would be my love
We are wrong but so right
Opposite forces
That will never be apart.

Ginger moon
Pulling the tide away
From feet soothed
By water.

I follow. Further down
The river bank.
Until I see her mirrored
By water.

Two moons, each to
Each other mere reflection.
True of all constellations.
By water

I ballance on wet rock,
Called closer unto
The silent circular siren.
By water

I am tenacious moth.
Leaving all other love behind;
It's her and I now.
By morning

I'll be gazing up at her too.
From next to her rippled
Twin. Nested; buried
By water.

Painted in a corner

Smeared about the floor

Chants of lone forgiveness

Quiet in the war

“Deafening the sound of death”

Garden roses trampled

Broken stems abound

Wilting on the visions

Blooming losses found

“Petals of peace scattered carelessly”

Blood along the pathway

Eyes hid in the mist

Penning someone else’s name

On this lengthy list

“Alphabetical to the grave”

Standing from the shadows

Crossing battle lines

Reaching for the freedom

Voices loud can find

“Speak up children, your voices matter”

Put aside your weapons

Time has come to cease

The nation now has gathered

United prayer for peace

*“On our hands and knees we pray… send the evil far away”
I was asked to write a poetic prayer for peace by a young friend in Iraq. This is what I wrote.

The Grass is Greener,
when you see the world
just a little bit clearer.

There it is, sitting out the window,
past the barbed wires,
and picket fences,
penny for your thoughts,
or even six pences?

The grass is green,
while it lives in the garden or out of bed,
out there and in here,
in the lawn or in your head.

Aye indeed,
The Grass is Greener
they say, on the other side instead.

Aye the Grass is so much Greener
while it blankets the dead.
