I'll be right here putting all my eggs in one basket
Sweeping sentences into the corners of my cranium
Shaking the cobwebs free to feather in the light breeze

Passing ancient ruined relationships gone down with the ship
The proverbial creek with out the paddle rocks left rocks right
In my right mind there is no turning back you see

You worked hard for what you got welcome to all your stuff
Let's us go for a stumble spilling beer down the front of our shirts
I will skip across the waves like a flat stone to meet my burial at sea

You can run roughshod over our language
Mangling it making it hard to comprehend
You can put your faith in some ultimate higher being
Choosing some far out law that allows you to be mean

You can kiss either a conservative or a liberal ***
Letting them add to their larder that's already overflowing
You can play any style of music and try to force it on others
Driving around town with the windows down

Can I really be free
Staring at the back of my eyelids when I rest
Thought age would give me a leg up
Little did I know it wasn't the flight of any bird I live
Phoenix or not at times I still tie my ******* in a knot
I crucify my ownself in my mind's marination
Lifting my skinny leg to **** on a tree
The apple doesn't fall far and you can see it in the lines of my face
******* away any freedom that could be had
Can I really be free.
Larry Cook was a crabby old ******* almost as bad as the ******* he caught and sold off the waters on Knotts Island North Carolina.

Every other morning during the season he was up at the **** crack of dawn and on the water either pulling or baiting pots.

He worked hard, he drank even harder.

He was back at the marina went and sold his ***** paid his crew and hit the bar like clockwork.

If he made it home was never the question, now if he it made into the home most nights was.

He lived in a nice old house his neighbors thought he was a freak.
And he thought they were all a bunch of stuck up yuppie *******.

He passed out on the lawn.
But he didn't give a **** for it was his lawn to pass out on.

He sat there on his tail gate one morning after a good ******.
His next door neighbor just glared.
He cracked a beer and just laughed.

The neighbors seven year old kid walked up to him.
Larry Cook hated kids.

And they always seemed to be drawn to him for some ****** up reason .
Like a **** house cat.
Course Larry never hated ***** although that never quite seemed drawn to him like ******* kids.

The kid just stood there staring.

Larry just kept drinking his beer.

“My dad says you're a nasty old drunk.”

Larry just looked at the kid and almost laughed.

“Yeah that really hurts cause I thought me and him were always friends.”

“Really that's weird because he hates you Mr Cook.”

Larry cracked another beer.

“So what the hell you doing over here shrimp.”

Larry asked.

“I'm bored.”

“Really seems like you're also a bit ******* as well.”

“You shouldn't use that word Mr Cook its  offensive.”

Larry saw the kid’s mother step out on the front porch.
She had a look on her face as if her little bed wetter was speaking to the Devil himself.

“Well Frodo I believe you're mother wants you.”

“She thinks you're crazy.”

“Most women do.”

“She said that's why you're wife ran off and left you and cause you're a drunk.”

“Bobby stop bothering Mr Cook.”

Bobby's mother called out.

“Looks like the warden's calling kid.”

“Well Mr Cook I guess I better go.”

“Yeah **** for brains come back and visit when you can’t stay as long.”

“Mr Cook I don't think you're so bad aside from sleeping on the front yard and hating everyone.”

“Yeah thanks and tell your mother even though she’s a uptight *****, I still think she has a great *** and thanks for not drawing the blinds last night.”

The kid just looked at Larry oddly and shrugged his shoulders.

“Okay well talk to you later.”

Larry learned a lot of things from his conversation with the kid that day.

He only passed out in his back yard from there on out.

I'm going to go through with it
This just has to be done
It's all going to stop
Chasing our tail around
For The ****** Dollar
It's all the same in the end

Passionate and proud
At the burst of a cloud
Rain falls in whispers
All today and into the night

When the wild are on the verge
Of some kind of taming
Who cares who you are blaming
How much does it matter that some are unaccountable

Not that you can get away with ****** and wars

When it's time to take your artwork
And put it in a frame
The picture is yours
It's the painter who takes the claim

When it's time to die
What's in it for the stars
Maybe a big wake and
Miles of lined up long electric cars

The mountain's shadow
Keeps the place cool in the summer
Not 'till the volcano spews it's guts
Will you lay down and burn
Or vaporize just in time

It's over with the death of the Star
'What is and was will be  bleaker and bleaker
A place you'd turn your head away from

When we have this chance to change into living without borders
What does that mean a shot of the The New World Order
An evocation of imaginations of and for the somewhat rich and the richer
A full and complete Police State, militia walk the street, Their bidding done

No way to travel but by foot
And the odd old bicycle
Horse and mules being bred
To save the soles on your leather boots

All the waters contaminated all the crops hollow not fit for an animal

We go this way or we go that
Who will drag us down or
Who will bring us up
Vibrational  influences could save us all

We can't keep trying to tell ourselves that the Government
Has our best interests at heart because they don't
If there is war among the classes it's a way to distract us
But it needs to be done and I'm bringing my 'A' game

We ran that dream down the shore line that night.

Sat watched the lights off in the distance nothing was shared for you didn't have anything left.

And I was a memory sitting beside you in the sand that already you had allowed to be taken away with the tide.

It was time to free float, taking that deep breath in while letting the life force leave the corpse that’s been stealing breath from life for far to long.

All that defined me, every soul fragment lost on a far away dream that was in itself as empty as a tomb with timeless echos.

An existence wasted don't you think?

The mind ***** my own soul while blood still raged hot through my veins.  I could have, but chose not.

There is a place we lose ourselves slowly with time , age and bitterness.

It never is questioned and often finds us alone when all we ever needed was another.

Maybe like animals we know when it's time and simply distance ourselves from the pack.

I cannot recall anymore what it was to be part of that which lingers upon the horizon .

As badly as I thirst to know I realize it is a broken dream and I need only too sleep we all lose something.

Down by the shore is where they will find me .

Caught in the sadness that is a misspent existence watching all those free horses as they run.

Life never stops but surely will I .

All those pretty horses will often remind you the true meaning of being alone.

When all that once felt natural fades into black
it's time to shed the cloak of the forgotten
changing back into the pristine
...only to find obsidian mist and a lost soul there

Shame raised her head to seek

Only to find the forbidden gone
absent from all that once was
there was no choice but to fall
asleep in the opaque web they weaved

Sun kisses the moon good night

She walks thru unknown emotions
visions of a dark misty forest
her heart turns stone cold
each memory offering no solace

Seeking once more who she once was

Fighting to be anything to anyone
graceful love so true now bitter
chasing colorless rainbows of fake promises
trying to forget he thought of her as nothing

Time to shed the cloak of dying.....

Waking from a dream to the empty
