South by Southwest
Hello ,
Take my hand . . .
we will step out
onto the stars and run
across the Milky Way

We will swim
in the pools of
glistening light and
share to our heart's delight

We will catch comets . . .
putting them in our pockets
making wishes
along the way

We will visit the darkest moons
and give them light
from far across the galaxies

But the most heavenly light of all
will reside in your smile

Following a moonbeam
glowing brightly in the sky
Strolling down a pathway
as we watch a firefly

Listening to a melody
sung sweetly on the breeze
All alone this evening
underneath the maple trees

Hand in hand we wander
on this perfect summer night
Dreaming of tomorrows
filled with everything that’s right

Pausing in the shadows
where we share a tender kiss
All alone this evening
in a moment just like this

Gazing on the beauty
that my eyes have come to see
Lingering my vision
when your smile is close to me

Standing in a clearing
counting every star above
All alone this evening
just the two of us in love

Little Bear
I don't think
there was any other
way
to have described
him
I could have
compared him
to the heavens
above
And to the stars
in the night sky
To joy
To love
and beautiful
blessings bestowed
But
he
Gave me
peace
deep
within in my bones
and a belonging
holding softly
to my heart
And so
i find
the only
way
I could have
described
him
was to call him

On Loving You

I thought of a thousand reasons
why I shouldn't love you
I made a tally
a little score;
I thought and I thought
and I thought
only to know
how now I
love you even more

So Much Love to Give

A lifetime isn't enough for loving you
I have so much love to give
And if I could I would, my love
Just to love you
Another life I'd live.

Vintage Wine

Rich golden peaches
Bottled in a vintage wine
Heady
Sweet
Overwhelming -
This dear love of mine.

Like Chocolate

Gooey
Molten
Mushy
Warm

I melt like
Chocolate
In your arms

Cast among the downpour,
gates beneath dark clouds are left open
The creek is rising, drowning underbrush,
darkening tree trunks,
moving swiftly the discarded,
Collecting at the walls of this place,
as stone and mortar slowly crumble

From a desperate vantage point
overlooking nature’s angry powers
I see a shape, a floating aura,
eyelet gown of gold stitch, woven ribbon dreams
Mahogany hair flowing, eyes captivating,
drifting atop muddied raging waters,
directing the flow with blown kiss persuasion

Suddenly swept away, barely a breath remains,
swallowing life in surrendering gulps
Flailing intoxicated waves, undertow’s grasp,
when a hand reaches, fingers interlock
Glazing blue skies whisper in sunlit reflections,
ocean breezes soothe washed out tides,
as a sand dollar wishes on a seashell

And now upon this beach I lie safely within soft arms,
tasting her mimosa lips, warm and sweet
I drink in her flavor neath palm tree shadows,
cool in the heat, but hot of her skin
My heart hears the glistening, tingling my senses,
awashing me in desires impossible to imagine,
as I happily drown in her
