Sliding through the cracks
Screaming monkey on my back
Nowhere to go nothing to do
Sitting in a bucket of crying some blues
When a love is nothing just some fact
You pass that crossroad and you can't turn back
In the hutch a bottle of gin just a way to hide
Doesn't fix the problem just dulls the inside
Climbing out the well dripping from the dunk
I tire and rest a bit no breeze to blow the funk

Led by desire-
hidden springs' to quench
-a thirst to love
a need to be- In solitudes
arms. All counts in loves
embrace. In loves sight.
Every desire to be-
every thirst to be found.

The air brakes
and rumble of a bus

pulling out
of town

and the buzzing
fly

of what would've been
if we had just stayed put

and is there progress
or  forward motion

when
there's lament
An abstract word painting

Cue the ticking
and then the ringing

as the metal trinket
vibrates

on the table
the  counter

eggs are done

or must we
put down the pen

as that  puts an end
to the test

and it's the pressure
the stress

of a time crunch
or crisis

that never fails us
when we swing

for the fences
swoosh for the stars

mixing and tripping
over our metaphors

in our relentless
pursuit of success

If the pain could grow legs, would it walk away

Would it pity me

When my eyes lose the light and my body begins to bruise

Would my tears be enough to keep it away

If I screamed at the top of my lungs, would it run away

Could I teach it to hide if I swore at it

Will my scars remind it to stay away

What about the tears in my mothers eyes

Would pain know it’s place
