let thoughts mellow and compute

nicely.  we will be all ready on the day.

we have a plan, whilst gratitude guides

us. nothing is necessary, except

collars and socks.

some will understand,

while others will not.

now, the upper room.

Let go of your fears and go after your dreams
No matter how impossible it may seem

If you really want something bad enough
Stand tall and hold on tough

Life seems so hard, but don’t fret my friend
Your dream may be right around the next bend

~

          it is a poignant thought...
          that in this life
we often know more of a thing
          by its absence
          than by its presence;
          that we do not know,
          yes,
          truly know…
          love,
          in all
          its ins,
          its outs
          until life
          ends…

for they who pass over         yet for they who remain
to the other side,          on this other side,
love to them becomes          love to them becomes
a love transforming          a love of mourning
        an all-surrounding,         an all-surrounding,
             unconditional,          pained condition,
      a love ever-warming          a love ever-wanting
and more perfectly          and more palpably,
         touchable, immutable,         touchable, immutable,
and in its presence is         and in its absence is
more contentment          more torment
   and happiness         and distress
       a one belonging         an ever-longing
       love          love
         than any         than any
       theretofore         heretofore
        known;         known.

post script.

this musing is the result of reading your beautiful poetry
this morning and seeing how many wrote of heartbreak…
whether through death, divorce, break-up or misunderstanding,
each lends to the knowledge of what love is not
and therefore to what love is.
this plain is such a broken place, it is truly a wonder
any of us ever experience any love at all…
and yet thankfully we do.

*(creating columns on HP is at best a difficult proposition.  of course the format changes from device to device.  after much work this looks acceptable on my laptop, my ipad, and on my smartphone in landscape view only.  my smartphone in portrait view... not so much! :) however you choose to view it, enjoy!)

You cannot straighten out a warped past
You can only choose the straight paths,
Which are now ahead of you.

My poems are
lost down a shady grove,
They've taken up residence,
In a rainbow room,
Reflections cast on four white walls,
Whispered from this closing tomb,
Singing songs no one knows,
Poems lost in airy ether,
No one knows where they go.

My poems ride the winds,
Cascading down,
Tumbling into oceans
to be buried within,
When no one is looking,
They rise again.
It has been said
in space, no one can hear you scream,
Silence known far to well.

My poems are silence
in a darkened room
banging on consciousness door
to be set free,
Thought bubbles floating
in the breeze,
Set free, finally.

if wish merged with might
grew a tail and string was strung
from when i was thirteen
on a green grass field to now
in the air so high above
would swoosh
my kite
all the birds would be flying
below.

no law condemns the sovereign heart
nor pulls the puppet strings of love
left lonely, one man is only half
and Lawless is his middle name

soldiers of grace exalt her fate
love's empire undone
damaged hearts like near-dead stars
spit and spark and groan

spit is sweet add ripe revenge
mine is the honey-laden mouth
which drips with sweat of sword-ish tongue
and breathes the breath of lesser men

Friday is here once again
Wishing the weekend would never end

How quickly every day goes by
Weeks and months seems to fly

I remember the days when I was a kid
A day seemed like a month, a month seemed like a year
Always felt like I was waiting, it hardly seemed fair

Wishing to grow up was a dream at the time
How I long for those days of nursery rhymes

Time is precious
It goes by so fast
How do I slow it down, make it last

We’re all caught up in this rat race called life
Full of disappointment, full of fright

Cherish each day and give thanks for each hour
Don’t live your life sad and sour
Make every moment of everyday worthwhile
Stay happy and joyful, widen your smile

I keep waking up every day
To come to work just to collect my pay

I don’t even know if I like what I do
I feel like I’m better off home with the flu

Wouldn’t it be wonderful to do something you love?
Write a book, feed a dove

Walk on the beach
Sand in your toes
Salty sea air
Tickling your nose

It really is such a lovely daydream
Don’t wake me up, cause I just might scream

Don't approach a dog unknown to you
Holding out your hand, making eye contact
You may frighten him
Let him come to you

Don't write a poem uninspired
It won't work out
In good time
Let it come to you

Don't go out there seeking love
Like a child with a butterfly net
Live your life
Let it come to you

I woke up this morning feeling peaceful
For the first time in years
Not anxiety, no trembling tears

No memories haunting me from the past
I wonder if this feeling will finally last

I’ve been through a great deal
Of sorry and pain
Darkness I never want to repeat again

I’ve done my sentence
I’ve paid my dues
I’ve given up the drugs and deadly *****

It’s time to live, start new and fresh
I’ve lost a plenty of years, I’m now ready for the best
