In a world where mercy is fading away,
And where hatred and darkness play,
Look towards the Beloved and pray,
Remember the dawn of love's eternal day.

What is Poetry? Who knows?
Not the rose, but the scent of a rose;
Not  a sky, but the light in the sky;
Not the fly, but the gleam of the fly;
Not the sea, but the sound of the sea;
Not myself, but what makes me
See, hear, and feel something that prose
Cannot: and what it is, who knows?

Look up
A poem orbits around the moon
And a poet dangles on metaphors
This hazy starry night
I picked up my pencil
And sat down to write
I had nothing to say, for
I’m not very bright.

But that didn’t stop me
I needed a Pome
I needed to scribble
A life-changing tome.

I sweated a little.
I crossed out a lot.
I hoped it was brilliant.
I sensed it was not.

I read the New Yorker
Their poems are obscure
I may write only drivel
But my meaning is clear.

So now I am finished.
I’ll read it and you
Then go get a pencil-
Be a famed poet too.

What you want
Is so expensive
You are caught
By what you see 💍

There are things
You cannot pay for
Greed grows not
The money tree 🌳

The peace you seek
Is not in wealthy living
You're only dying
By degrees... 💀

There's only one way
To be joyous
Living by the
Lord's decrees  📖

So read your Bible!
It is in there!
Then, at last
You will be FREE! ✝️
The love of  money is the root of all evil.

Fresh snowflakes continue to fall,
in case there'd be no squalls at all,

Let's make slow soundless paces,
and with our well wrapped limbs
we'll tread on vast white spaces
while humming joyful hymns.

Our eyes, we'll let them wander
through sun and serene blue skies.
our feet definitely will go yonder
on grounds soft, immaculate white,

like freezing fields of white cotton.
our shrieks and laughter won't be loud,
we'll go forward with much caution,
as a stillness gobbles up the sounds.

We calculate our steps...we reflect,
overwhelmed by a calming presence,
a break from life's noise...we accept
the peace of a reigning white silence.
