Love is gold inside of you
Nothing more or less can do
A sparrow sings out loud and free
Bread and wine, I offer thee
Sand dunes drift along the way
Love is gold and here to stay
The blue smile of a candle
Illuminates the heart
To know thyself, and play the part
Love, so precious to behold
The luster, the love
Surrenders, like leaves of gold
i stand, rotting
a small wooden structure in a large city
barren and empty
one window, a single pane of glass

surrounded by skyscrapers
tall and terrifying
yet they too,
they too are rotting
windows smashed,
cavernous corridors tainted by crude slogans,
abused.

my small frame is fragile,
a foundation that is questionable,
my walls are depending on these skyscrapers
willing them to stay tall and terrifying
yet they are crumbling at the edges,
the debris beginning to become almost too heavy on my roof.
an ode to my friends and the people surrounding me. everyone is not always as they seem
A certain song the sea wind knows
it sends thru puckered lips,

like kisses blown, across the bows
of drowsing sailing ships;

and stirs their sleepy sails
from their slumber with it's tune,

unfurls their folded petals
and brings them back in bloom.
She loosens on tiptoe
the latch of her window,

slides upward the sash
and the shine of the moon

pours over the sill,
like it's rushing downhill

like a silver stream,
flooding her room.
I'm taking every poem I ever wrote
Every thought of mine, every subtle note
Take them down to the churning sea
Toss them far, set them free

All the fading ink, every yellowed page
My form of art that is poetry
As I stand on the beaches warming sand
I'll watch them sink or see them swim

From that moment on for them and me
At that very point we'll be set free
saw a rainbow yesterday
from the side of a woman
looking at her sleeping eyes
hair flowing over my shoulder
thigh against thigh
saw the color burst
like the ecstasy last night
on the distance
a prism
into my pillow
I buried my head
looked up and it was still there
real the rainbow
next to me the most gorgeous
golden treasure
there at the end
