You flashed your knowing smile at me
While I was searching for a friend.
I followed you without a doubt, as if this was my first and only chance.

The streets seemed endless and I spent half a day strolling after you.
Passed many unknown faces, none of them noticed neither me nor you.
All those foggy figures with eager hands stole reality away,
Making me forget how life was before your path crossed my way.

You continued the sluggish journey and I tagged happily along,
Knowing the clock was ticking and shared time could not last for long.
I opened up and you closed down,
You woke up, but I shut down.
We pretended it could last forever,
A life that never worked but still got better.
Found a little wonderland, tried to make some sense of it,
Though the walls got cracks and holes, you and I got lost in it.
Looked into your glistening eyes, saw you staring back through a liquid haze,
Felt your fingers touch mine as I reached down and stirred up the silent surface.
I pulled you up when you yanked me down,
The world fell apart and turned around.

But I never hit the river, and you remained underwater.

I felt your legs move, the slight sway of your hips caused by each step.
My knees gave out and you landed on the ground without protest.
I opened my mouth and you whispered breathless ’What’s out there to see?’
Finally I realized there is no you or me;
there is only we.

It has been found that given enough time
failure will find this destined loser
lurking in gallery tints
and water color fault lines

semi gloss replaced by flat

Painting abstract nothings
on a canvas made of words
Broken brushes stain the existing
balance with a voice that collects the remnants

speaking tarnished silver when silence should be golden

Pop art wastelands of dotted balloons
float above the ground where his face falls,
shamed and hidden, in plain sight
with eyes holding quarters of bygone years

melting clocks keep time with his idiocy

Impressionists laugh at his existence
in muted tone chuckles and turpentine snickers
Stretched on easels of dislodged glances
with splattered smocks tied in double knots

one size fits all

This palette of mixed memories
resting on mainstream notions, waits
for the end is sure to come
finding him alone with an empty imagination

and nothing but drop cloth dreams
Walking the walk
With one foot
In the grave
Keeping your
Head held high
Knowing
Your end of days
We all pray
That your Spirit flies
When you are laid to rest
Not all of you dies
You live on
In the mind of others
We all hold you in Heart
We are your sisters and brothers
Upon the old path,
travelled many a toe.
With lessons to learn,
and notions that grow.
Ideas and moments,
locked into times.
Lost amongst love,
and lost upon rhymes.
The things that are said,
with a mind full of sauce.
The words that are thrown,
without any thought.
Without any reason,
without any rhyme.
Lost amongst love,
and locked into time.
I don't want to live a life
Where I look in the mirror
And see everything I never
Wanted to be

i want to
tuck songs
behind your
ear like loose
hair because
it's the only
way i can
tell you
how i
feel.
Your words, linger against my skin,
holding me until i wander off.
Until i'm in your arms,
I will not sleep again.
No matter how hard,
no matter how long.
Hold me again,
longer this time.
As my
mind drifts

And I want to tell her that I understand
what it feels like to be fake, insignificant,
and a shadow on the sidewalk of society.

And I want to tell her that I also borrow
the experiences of others --
that I, too, learn feelings
by stopping and staring at personal wreckage,
like a tourist of emotions,
like an inevitable wish of a human being.
