Before it's too late,

                                                           because nothing's worse than
                                                                                                              too
                                                                                                                     late

Wish I could take my own advice!

When the sun dips from the sky
And the moon begins to gleam
Wipe away your day face
And move yourself closer to me

With your worries now gone
And the sun below the horizon
I can see you more clearly
With my pupils beginning to widen

We sit on that hill for a while
With the chromatic hues of the sky above
Now it's only you and I
To explore this thing we call love

So I look into your eyes, they are always clear
And neat and beautiful
And I lay may head on your chest and draw little hearts with my fingers
While I start to, again, feel whole

I can quite explain, I can't quite describe
How it was you that I found
But some part of myself tells me not to question it
As we sit and watch the sun go down

Wednesday
I self identify as the mud caked on your shoes
after you stepped in an unavoidable puddle

I self identify as the coffee that burns the back of your throat
every morning around 5 am

which was always right before you went to sleep
and it never failed to make me laugh

I self identify as everything that reminds me of you

I am a museum to your thoughts
your dreams keep me up at night
I can tell when you are cold when you are 37 miles away

I know you just lit your sixth cigarette of the day
I'm sorry you led me astray
If you're seeking someone that can
find you
then I pity you
for not understanding that no one else
knows where you are
better than
you.
funny thing-you're attached to you.

Your manly scent
Infinite bliss
The special treatment
Undiscovered stares
Your "I am a gentleman" mode
Counting the patterns on your shirt
Unintended strolls in the corridor
Spending hours at the water tap
Guilty ignorance
Being young at heart
Hilarious awkwardness
The "what the heck did I just say?"
Uncontrollable blushing
These things are as many as there are drops in rain
Do not miss me yet
For it will rain
Once again.
I read his sentence as
a string of his breath,
the commas,
his pauses,
and at the period
is where
he ends.
We always end.
You carried me for many months and thus became my world
My hands are shaped like yours because I am your little girl
I could've let you go if you had said that's what you wish
But every word I heard you speak was opposite of this
I saw the life you thought you lost and held it close for you
Believe me when I say that's what I knew I had to do
I look at you the same today as I did even then
Before I ever breathed the air of everywhere you'd been
And there are times when all I need to do is go inside
To let the warmth of who you are wash over like a tide
The closer that I come to you the less I feel alone
I guess it's true what people say - some people feel like home
for my mother who carried me so I could carry her

An ordinary day arrived again
and ticketed talk
it cost me just to say
"one second
more-
let's go for a walk"

"Yes-
if you will promise-
to see me as yourself
and not the thing
you made of me
that clock upon your shelf"

we strolled through misty meadows
and hand in hand that day
I learned to love my freedom
and the things which come what may

we had our  day together
I cannot say the date
I want to say an extra-
ordinary day
but wait...

"Why can't an ordinary day
be just this  like today?"
and Ordinary looked at me
and pointed towards the sway....

"That same old wave is NOT the same
no ordinary roll
and waves through placid water
seem to change the water's soul
the ins and outs
the ups and downs
of every single day
are separate parts of sameness
but unique in every way"

"try not to over think it
be quiet, or you'll miss
the things you take for granted
make for silence, calm the hiss!"

and so my ordinary date
had tried set me free
to wander down the road without
a single peep from it to me

a silent celebration
seemed no ordinary day
reset my pace for living
and now no fine to pay!

Hey!
"Where do you think you're going?"
as the sun sets in the west
"I've got to get a move on
but you've been a splendid guest

I'll be back tomorrow
just an ordinary mate
but if you care to have some fun
we'll make another date!"
