Van Gogh painted the
Famous Starry Night
Through eyes blurred by tears
Because he and God
Both got it just right

Under shooting stars
I blinked away my tears
Because I and God
Cast away my fears

In the light of night
The moon will take your hand
Because you and God
Are co-authors of your plan

If violets could count the endless amount of love I could give to someone who loved me,
I'd be a sea of purple swaying in the breeze.

If someone would want to be for me the sun, the moon, and rain,
Then maybe I wouldn't pick so many flowers in vain.

Weep

You are hidden on one side I am on fallen on the other,
we could work together but we are about to fall.
Push through the static noise, listen for the crying siren,
it doesn't have to be like this—a lamb killing a lion.
A melody over an angry voice, it doesn't have to be like this at all.

Weep for me so God can hear my honest suffering,
speak for me when I am gone, and just a memory.
We are held together by absolutely nothing
in the end we break our souls in two.

Broken by greed but I still mourn, a sigh of relief I'm honestly torn.
Yet I still believe there's another life for me,
asleep on a one-way street even after my soul is broken.
Even after they scorch my dreams, for now, I still breathe.

You are fallen on one side I am on hidden on the other,
we could work together yet pride may be the final call.
It doesn't have to be like this, it doesn't have to be like this at all

Weep for me under a tree on a rainy day,
walk with me and be thankful we live and breathe.
Talk with me and get lost in conversation,
until we fall asleep, until we sleep permanently,
I will be waiting; I will be waiting for you.

Weep for me so God can hear my honest suffering,
speak for me when I am gone, and just a memory.
We are held together by absolutely nothing,
in the end, I will be waiting.
In the end, I will weep for you.

So, you brought a pen to a knife fight,
you who write with brilliance,
no need to fret.
I guarantee you leave a legacy,
life is not through with you yet.

Your nouns have purpose,
you who suffer every time you write,
I swear this to you.
every verb has profound meaning,
let your poetry ignite the mind.

I promise you this,
draw from the passion you find in life,
your adjectives will live forever.
A spider web spinning digital dreams,
each conjunction you weave lingers on.

So, you chose a pen to conduct your life,
choose each adverb wisely,
you who creates poetry brilliance.
For the legacy, you leave with words
is how the world will remember you.

You are the cigarette I smoke,
After the needle finds my vein.
The comfort in sleep so profound,
I thought I'd never awake again.

you give me butterflies
butterflies made of antifreeze
butterflies made of fish hooks
    i don't like you
       i don't like you
    i need to throw up
  i think i love you
but i really just don't like you
    because you twist my arm
           with heavy wrenches
    but never break the skin
    and i have
      a thing for blood
     i guess
           'cause
i'm too ******* lazy to
      throw myself off a bridge
   in front of a train
           on fire with smoke signal
            "*******"s trailing behind me
but who cares
who cares, really?
           love is all fish hooks
in the eyes of the devil so
         i'll save
              the last waltz in hell
                           for you, honey.
