Death stirs all ways like the wind
like something getting up to go,

and like the wind death doesn't
leave anywhere alone,

but where it is he travels with
whoever take his guiding hand,

gladly will I wait until
                     I die to understand ..

She loosens on tiptoe
the latch of her window,

slides upward the sash
and the shine of the moon

pours over the sill,
like it's rushing downhill

like a silver stream,
flooding her room.

When this skin
was young and ironed,
well it fit,
like new things do;

that was then
but now I find
the cracks within
are showing through.

Comfort

Comfort eases into the room as
Your embrace offers what you feel i desire,
Yet i lay with a lingering emptiness that consumes me.

Comfort radiates shallowness,
Which houses the distant that are occasionally granted a turn to peek through the curtains.
Comfort's stench offers a cheap line to conclude nothing can be done to lead to a solution.
Comfort, in turn, concludes to love with limitations.

It is five-thirty a.m.
I step outside for
the newspaper,

not four feet away
a raccoon sits on
its haunches like

a paunchy Buddha,
smiling as only liars
and sick animals

can; I toss a half
eaten piece of bacon
between  its  legs, pick

up the paper,
back away,
away.

The truth will never set you free.
It doesn't even exist-- it's just based on each person's own view of reality.
So instead of the truth I search for love.
It was the only thing that ever made any sense to me.

i watch
i shield
my candle
she flickers
she glows
she melts
away
slowly melting
my heart
i watch
i shield
my candle
my mother's
long goodbye
Wrote this for a friend whose father passed recently and whose mother is now down with AD. I've seen him transform into a serious adult with all the burdens of responsibility and the toll of emotions. AD - Alzheimer's Disease- hope they find a cure soon!
