If you are trying to change a; person, relationship,  or environment, and it doesn't change - leave before it changes you. Things are what they are; you have no control of that. You are what you will; you have full control of that.

I try writing your name
I try to write it on paper,
But now that paper is missing.

I was told to never give up
So then I wrote it in the sand,
But not just any sand
It was sand that stood by the waves of my heart
I thought it would stay there forever
Then suddenly it got washed away

I had tried twice and lost both times,
But the third time is a charm
I wrote your name in my heart,
But not by the ocean shore of my heart
I wrote it right in the middle and till this day it stays there with all your love

It's a good thing we have skin. Otherwise
we'd have to see our filthy hearts, beaten and
                                                                             scrubbed raw,
Torn   apart   and  pieced back together with
Masking                                                     tape
Dented and bruised with abuse blackandblue not red
Except for the
scabs and sores and cuts and holes waiting to be filled
                                                                             With something
anything.
They contract, retreat to the beat of
desperate breaths   and                                         lonely sobs
Pumping a polluted river through our veins flowing with all the
                                                                                       Refuse
The tears and unsung songs, silent pleas drowning under
                                                                                    the weight.
                                                                                    All while we flash
Our pearly whites shake our bony hands
And say hello and how are you and fine and very well

thank                                                                        you
I'd swim there
forever,
in those delicate waters,
shimmering,
basking
in your elegance,
cascading
from
the pool in the small of your back,
down between
the beauty
of your womanhood,
in your succulence,
I'd dive.
