So many keys to success!
You just have to be at the right door,
There's a bunch of options;just don't be careless,
You might drop your key to floor,
And fail to recover it,
So many keys but specific,
Each individual has their door and key of breakthrough
Within the four walls
Below a roof
Busy with play of words
The poet is aloof.

The sky is breaking low
Pitter patter rain
Capture they must the flow
Of drizzles soothing pain.

Outside on a stretch of green
Drenched to the bone
A man with cracking skin
Hoeing from morn.

The toiler is tasked to ****
Paid by the hour
Must earn the precious quid
Whatever the shower.

The poet is lost in the toil
To grow his rhyme in shower
The **** works fast the soil
Growing hope by the hour.

Under rain the green leaves weep
Rich with life
Still the sobbing will not keep
Her sadness softens brown earth
Feeding the soil soothing the dirt
Under weird blues and grays
Strange hues still fill these days
Soft drum beats upon my skin
Ba dump ba dump ba dump
Like my heart always beating
In a strange rhythm
Always falling from outside
But I feel it deep within

It is a poets job to feel what we never felt, to be where we never were, and see what we never saw.

This was written to explore the different responses to bi-lateral mastectomies, one woman with Cancer; the other trans gendering. It was inspired by reading The Argonauts by Maggie Nelson, whose partner, Harry, was pleased to be rid of these cumbersome appendages & by my friend, Angela who had breast carcinoma and felt very differently towards the loss of *******.
