                                                   'Drip'

The beautiful sound of rain
Engulfing my brain.
Thinking of the rain,
Causes nothing but pain.
He was everything but love was slain.
The rain
Like a hurricane
Leaving destruction and pain.
The rain
Is why I am insane.

i see the flyer at starbucks

"are you caucasian?
without mental health
and drug problems?"

wow
i don’t know the answer to any of these questions
is a jew a caucasian?
is the occasional naked, ****-slamming drunken rampage
a drug problem?
as for mental health
i’m a deadbeat poet and unpopular pop musician
i’ve got a job fighting death and boredom
and i just changed my facebook password to "eat ****"
my frustrations have driven weaker souls to homicide
but are these PROBLEMS?

in my small town
last names mean everything & being a good kid means nothing
perhaps that's why this town is so ******

it's risky to talk to you
because all i can do is smile
and i'm afraid
that you'll know
everything
that i'm
not telling
you
cry, tawny moon,
prism of a dark wood,

the stars wave and hurry
flow in their rivers of black,

the skies, so far away,
gather their metal loops,

guard a dark world.

the poetry silvers the stars
carries them in a tender arc.
