We got drunk on 70’s media
Deep in suburbia mind states..
No one had to wonder
Nixon was definitely a fake!
Vietnam was viewed
Through a fisheye lens
Body bags on helicopters
****** a moral sin
When it was over
There was little respect
For any of them…

Who are these leaders
Who choose grim gruesome wars
A solution, over peace

History haunts
Grieves and taunts
Knowing what wars bring along

Technologically empowered
Primitive and regressive in thoughts
Progressive world, are we ?

Yet to free ourselves
From the microscopic being
Held us captive as jewels in its crown

In cages the minds swept
Invisible the buildup
Outcome, one can see, outbursts

Disconnected, broken some remain
Breaking what they can’t own
Will this war come to an end
Prayers for peace 🙏

South-by-Southwest
If I were a wise old fool
Or a duck out of luck
Would I count my money
by thimble or by a dumping truck

I'm glad I have no such problems
I broke the rules and bank
I own a four cornered mansion
On every street with steeply sloping banks

I have no problems eating
I mark every foodline on a map
I own stock in Salvation Army
I bought off this persuasive chap

I worry not for tomorrow
Today is good enough for me
I've been told I have no future
So say the fortune tellers that is all they see

Oh well , oh whale , oh wail
It doesn't matter me
Time now for a free lunch
Then in your alley I will surely go to ***

Puds
Forever flows through the same vein
Everything I believe seems just right
With you there is only this moment
With you all there is -  Is tonight

Khoisan
A Russian roars
hate is unfair in love and war
Buildings
fall on people
some die as others scrawl
governments
point
fingers
God turns to the moon
the
reaper gathers clout
and
the little devil
laughs
out
loud.

The Foodie One
There’s a heaviness
lingering
upon my shoulders

I sit and try
to regain
my vigor

Just to find
my eyes
are slowly closing

Maybe I can stay
and rest a little
longer?

I used to sing love songs,
but now it's just pub songs
'..down at the old Bull and Bush..'

drinking my schooners of Australian sherry
getting a bit wayward, getting a bit merry,

and I pause here to note,
those schooners were the nearest things to any ship
that I ever held dear.

I wouldn't recommend the wine
the barkeep is lucky that he ain't
doing time for selling that slop,
down at the old
down at the old?
that's another problem, too much drink and
I can't think what pub I'm in.
