she's strong
she's vulnerable
but she never cries
she's nice
she has a lot of friends
she will fight for you
because she cares
she loves too much
she pours so much effort
in making others happy
in hopes of making herself smile too
she's strong
she's tough

to sum it up
she's an angel
with a shotgun

but no,
she's not gonna hurt you

she's fragile
she breaks
but she never shows it
she screams
but she doesn't let you hear it
she dies
but you will see her living
laughing
enjoying
life
as if she truly is

Bang!

Bang!

*(don't be scared,
no one's hurt..

except her)
That Night…

That certain night I came to him with reverence
And I was like a goddess and he the worshipper
I accepted his offerings of passion not because
He was the sole pilgrim to my pantheon of love
But since I heard his supplications to cherish me.

My tears mingled with his just like our ardor in a cup
And we will drink it for many days and nights later
My soul and his were in cased in a time capsule
That both of us could easily open in the far future
To fill the lonely winter nights to balance our sanity.

Then I started to wish that summer would never cease
But the leaves started to fall hard just like my dreams
As I looked at him packing his things the next morn
He said farewell and went to war and to his people
But at least I was…

A goddess that night and my enemy was my devotee.
I was sorting and re-reading some of my contest pieces (short story) and a couple of sentences in "He was mine during Summer" caught my attention.

Although I didn't win (I just dabble at short stories just like my poems haha), I found it intriguing to make some of the sentences used in that story into a poem.

She was the lightning
elusive and too fast

and he was the thunder
who keeps on chasing after her
never really getting tired
no matter how many times
he misses

who knows?
maybe one day
when he's a bit faster
and she's a bit closer
and the wind and the heat
the electrons and the charges
all agree,
they will meet
they will dance
and all the earth will hear them shout

*because after all
thunder is alive
only because there's
lightning
At all times
We are loved
At all times
We are looking
Inside trying to
find the truth
At all times
We doubt
We wonder
Why we are here
At all times
We question
Ourselves
We wonder
Why things
Are the way
They are
At all times
We must
Remember
We are whole
We are loved
To make it
Through the day
You must
Remember
At all times
My friend so
You can make
It through the day
Never forget the
Lessons from your past
At all times
Never let go
Of who you are inside.
Something to remember.
we took turns toking,
holding the tent pole up
while the rain battered
the canvas

dawn crawled
over the great rocks;
a synovial silence
after the storm

still ******
we finally succumbed
to sleep, for an eternal
minute

until awakened by Huns
on horses, hoof beats ricocheting
off the hard stones, echoing
in the canyons

worse than that thunder,
the eerie emanations riding
the backs of the staccato waves
from the beasts’ shod feet

words flung from the riders’ tongues
slapping our ears, bedeviling our weary wits,
these time traveling tricksters, transporting
us to a world at war
