Cris-crossing as you walk down the line,
Avoiding the glear from the shallow glassyfaced individuals.
A smile would crack their "perfect" complexion.
No appreciation nor gratitude for tomorrow, just keep picking at your flesh wound to gain some satisfaction.
Never mind the scar.
Glorified pen pushers making a mockery out of a civilised man.
Civil only to avoid brutality & jail from those who couldn't show an ounce of respect.
I weep & bow my head in shame as I watch this world unravel.

Almost Lover
Darkness crossed the road
Held out his arms for me to hold
I jumped in and cried "You're my only friend"
When will this end?

We saw the light
Fled astray
"We can't go there" the darkness said
Stay away.

I can't see where I am going
I'm not positive of where I have been
Everything I have ever done, has been labeled as one word
Sin.

I can find a friend in you
Just show me the way
Even in the darkness
I will not pray.

"Where is everyone you need them"? I asked
"They were never really there"
Darkness told me the truth
I don't need you.
Whether Martin, Malcolm
Jack or Bobby
there will never be but one.

These men were few
their dreams were great
their jobs did not get done.

Taken too soon
by bullets all
killed for their beliefs.

Equality would have to wait
will it ever come?

Will another arise
to carry the torch?

Will someone continue
to beat equalities drum?

If by chance it does one day
and all are viewed as equal,
brotherhood could finally come
we might start living peaceful.

As we look forward to that day
there's something we all can do,
treat each other equally
spend some time in another's shoes.

Don't promise me stars.
They are not within your
Reach.

I would be happy with the
Constellations freckled
And trailing down your
back.

Fear

epictails
a shadow lurks to where I go
trailing me, inflicting doubt
on the path ahead
to the great unknown
it grows bigger
and my feet plant themselves
in resonance
soon I will become its slave
heeding its words as truth
denying my mind a clear verdict
only to bring me closer to the shadow
and cower in its safety
