Consequences
Rain, rain come today and wash this horrible pain away.
Hope drowned out by the screaming in my head
Faded blue eyes in a room painted red.
The taste of guilt and shame sharp upon my tongue,
Suffering still for a choice made when I was young.
Rain, rain come today and wash all the horror away.

Burden
I sometimes feel my heart burdened with this horrible sadness.
The blood that passes through me a river of tears,
The beat of my pulse a steady, rythmic wardrum.
Can anyone but me hear them?
I look to the heavens and I see the face of my Creator.
I know he hears it, and I know I am not alone.
This one I wrote a few years ago.

His Hands
In darkness, sadness or just the dreaded night,
You Creator’s hands are there shining bright.
Open your heart to that shining light and let it in,
And in the darkness you shall never tremble again.
Though you may suffer and fear,
You will take comfort knowing he’s near,
Though his children are more numerous than the desert sands,
Your Creator has very big hands.

Broken Dreams
I cut myself on the edge of my broken dreams,
Those sharp shards of shattered hopes cutting me to the bone,
Dribbling drops of ruby red blood into the cracks and seams,
While I lay upon the cold ground of the past and moan.
