Two sisters—just a year apart.
The elder, quiet, shy, a soul kept hidden behind gentle eyes.
The younger, a spark—charming, graceful, the kind who turned heads and lit up rooms.
Both brilliant in their own way,
But only one was seen.

At every gathering,
The younger shone.
She smiled, she laughed,
And one day, he saw her.
And he fell in love.
By a twist of fate,
She loved him too.

But the elder—she had already begun to feel something…
Not knowing love had already bloomed between them.
When she found out,
She didn’t scream.
She didn’t cry
She stepped back.

She told the truth to the family.
She made her sister choose—
To let go.
And so, the younger moved on.
The boy drifted away.
Life went forward.

But somewhere,
The elder stopped.

Now, the world paints her a villain.
But tell me—who truly made her one?

She bore no hate.
Only heartbreak.
No one was wrong,
But she lost the most.

Because she believed—she was never enough.
With her curved back, her round face, her skin not fair…
She dared to dream, once.
And paid the price.

She tried to change everything—
Her voice, her body, her smile—
All to be someone the world might finally choose.

But in the process,
She lost herself.
The girl who once found comfort in her own skin
Is now just tired.

Tired of trying.
Tired of proving.
Tired of being second.

She’s giving up.
And now,
Love?
Oh God…
Does it even exist anymore?
The woman he saw from his childhood often,
He pondered—
She is not even fair and beauty—
When did his heart become so fragile and soften?

Was it her silence, deep as the ocean,
Or the way she was unbothered
By what the world might think of her life and motion?

When did I start to observe her so?
I should condemn my heart before it goes too far.
I’ve witnessed every phase she’s been through,
Watched the life she walked, in joy and scar.

Some claim that love means sharing the good and bad,
But it’s hard when I think of pulling her into my worst and sad.
I’d be glad if she got a life much better—
But I fear, what if I’m wrong and regret it later?

Enough—this inner battle must now settle.
I’ve decided to take her hand in mine
And get over this heart’s restless saddle.

I went to her
And whispered in a gentle manner,
"I wish for your heart—
Give me a chance to heal your broken part."

Blushing a little,
She answered:
"You really took your time a lot.
Don’t you think you deserve a penance
For all the days we spent apart?"

I cracked a laugh
To ease my nerves—
She really doesn’t know
How fast my heart beats.
It’s a mysteria, I don’t deserve.

She chirped,
"I have a request to tell—
Please hear me once, and hear me well."
I replied,
"I am yours, as you are mine.
Don’t hesitate—just tell your mind."

She continued:
"I want to make memories with you—by
Walking down a narrow aisle,
Getting married before the ones
Who gave us birth—and the One who sent us here.
Not just making pictures with those
Who can’t decide whether to forget or forgive,
Or those who never learned ----------
---- How to live or let live.

I want to leave an impression of each moment in this world,
With you—walking along.
I never cared who doesn't get along.
I don’t want castles or money bills—
Let’s live the rest of our lives in a little cottage down the valley and hills,
With nature and our pet Dolly—
Simple feasts now and then with friends.
And I’ll be so happy.

I know you have many dreams to pursue—
I’ll support them, even if it costs a few.
I know it’s hard for you to open up sometimes,
But I’ll be there—for all your climbs."

I was astonished by her speech—
She looked puzzled, unsure how I’d react.
So, I gave her a peck on the forehead,
To let her know—
She’s not getting away from me.
Never ever.

Now I know why it happened to my heart...
Indeed, she is not fair and beauty.
She is beyond that—
She is my beautiful fairy.
It was one of those pleasant days.
He must be waiting for my presence,
Like he does every day.

The car stopped in front of his café with a screech.
I could smell the saltiness and chocolate along the breeze.

I didn’t think my heart would race so fast and speed.
I needed some time to calm it,
Before somebody noticed and ask me—
What was that, indeed.

The bell rang as I pushed the door,
Letting him know I was already inside the store.

He must have heard me somehow.
Before I even realized,
My hands were clutching his elbow.

He took me with some caution,
And led me to the table—
Even though he knows I’m totally capable.

He pulled the chair for me to sit,
Making a squeaking sound.
I smiled, imagining him
Making an annoyed face, hearing that every day around.

He rushed to the kitchen with some excuse,
Before I could finish saying, “Yes, please.”
There he was—already on his toes—
With my favourite brownie and milkshake.
He knows just how to get a smile from me.
Now my heart is really at stake.

He entertained me with dreams and daily stories,
While nudging me to eat some savouries.

I could feel how attentive he became
Whenever I asked or said something.
It made me more than happy—
To feel like I had my own space in his life,
As someone who truly mattered.

Time ran fast—
It was already half past.
He walked me to the door,
And told me to come again, more.

Once he disappeared to resume his day,
I took out my white cane to continue the rest of my way.

He’s unaware of the words I’ve been saving since we met.
I can’t confess them in just two lines—
That the days I’ve spent with him,
I’ve felt loved,
Strong, and blessed.

So let me savour the moment,
Until I gain the strength—
To never part,
And pursue him till the end.

— The End —
