Roses aren't red
Violets aren't blue
Because theres no more color
In a world without you
Remember when people used to want to fall in love?
Me too.

That was a long time ago.
I remember
Times before snow
Mere months ago
Walking through
Fields of corn
Pumpkin spiced life
All night
The smell of leaves
Decaying sweet
The sound of your voice
Singing me to sleep
Ages ago.
I want you to regret
Ever having left me;
So I go to the gym,
I read,
I become something
More than me,
So you’ll regret.
But not too much,
For if you asked me back
I’m afraid I’d agree
I’m unemployed
And old enough to realize
That’s just not cool,
While kids around me
Friends of friends of parent's kids,
Are working their way
Into small names at big companies,
And it’s my job to clap for them,
To make them feel success
At selling out young,
While I give in all I have
All I’ve ever wanted
To live a dream
Worth chasing pennies for
Because I love the way
They click when they fall into
My piggy bank.
There are few things I love in life

And you are one of few.
Words are wonderful,
But you can't take them too serious;

Sometimes they lye.
There is a beauty
In saying things, simply.
