It is a pity life does not have background music
to pick us up as we fall
but as I ponder, I realise
that sometimes silence is the voice that teaches us to do it ourselves

A wish to have lived
with a pretty lace blindfold
in a pretty world

          and though it comes from so far


                                                              slices through the lace

A type of fire
that travels through one, screaming
never to echo
