Take my hand and
Lead me Lord, that
I may always do
Your will…

Let Your Spirits light
Shine from my heart
Until the day my life
Is still

Let me be a good example
Lord, that those who see
My change might turn and
believe…

That there is a good
And wonderful God,
Who will answer all
Of our needs.

(1972)
One of my first written for God, and it continues to this day 45 years later
I can't believe I did it, oh please not again. I had one too many and when that happens, this is how it ends. I wake up with a fuzzy memory and I hope I didn't I know I did. I look over and see someone sleeping soundly in beside me in bed. I try to rise quietly and figure out where I am. Did I come back to my place or did they bring me home. I finally find the bathroom and realize that it's all wrong. So I must find my clothes and try to get out quick. I don't even know what they look like, that really makes me sick. I step out of the bedroom and quietly across the floor, I finally find the front entrance and open up the door. I look around to see what street I am on, this is really bad, again things have gone all wrong. All I see are open fields and a few cows here an there. I finally come to the realization that I am not walking away from here.
In the night somewhere
A baby cries
And somewhere else
Lovers sigh
And as time passes
An old man dies

Somewhere out in space
A planet turns
And light years away
A star sun burns
Making us merely dust
And no-one learns

In this New Year headed our way
I pray that I follow God's path
I will not let this world lead me astray

No matter the politics
Health issues or pain
I will surpass
Consider all suffering gain

I pray for healing
For all the world to see
His Spirit is with us always
Our guiding light He will forever be~AMEN

HAPPY NEW YEAR WORLD
ESPECIALLY HAPPY NEW YEAR TO THE POETS HERE AT HELLO POETRY, YOU ALL MAKE MY LIFE COMPLETE ❤
...are showers that come in april, unexpected;
sparks and bursts of fireworks that overwhelm
a new year's eve...and revivify a lethargic world,
with sweet music that plays on, and on, and on...
...cup brims with adjectives that speak wonderfully
of the purest of emotions, like an invisible smile
of the heart, or, a smile too shy, but can't be hid
while imagining first times, face to face situations...
...verbs and adverbs give truth to action, and reaction,
like the soft, sweet giggles that start, when hearing
a voice, or a new accent...the pounding of the heart,
when the phone rings, and conversation flows easy
and honest, time doesn't matter anymore...voices
go soft, then loud, yet, still charming and melodic;
the whispered weary sighs sighed when waiting, or
when goodnights, or temporary goodbyes are
uttered....all are vividly felt, and heard...

...these spurts and blasts of joy,
are sources of metaphors...they capture
the essence of moments sublime...giving them
life and color, making them last in one's memory...

...it is a God-given moment, when true feelings
are manifested...recognized....and appreciated...
ink refuses to run dry, when reliving in writing,
incomparable moments of joy....

HAPPY NEW YEAR TO EVERYONE!!!
LOVE AND PEACE,TO ALL.
I remember a friend whom my Brother once had
Young Peter his name was, such a quiet little lad
Roughly his age was between three years or four
He was one of the shy ones and a tad quite unsure!

He only conversed with my Brother as such
And dined with us often but seldom ate much
But he was a good friend to my Brother dear
Not leaving his side until the night time drew near!

We’d hear so much laughter from them during play
He’d chatter and giggle to pass time away
His words were so silent but we knew he was fun
My brother looked happy and his face really shone!

Young Peter alas, was a child of the unknown
He lost his true path and could not get  home
So we played pretence we could see his small face
Then came the bad winter, he left us without trace!

I remember my Brother cried his heart out that day
Saying Peter had died, and his soul slipped away
We mourned for young Peter as respect to our bro
And before long his memory from my Brother did go!

From whence Peter came from is a mystery to me
But some things in life, the eyes will not see
And invisible friends have occurred more than most
Perhaps the lad Peter, was a friendly young GHOST!

My Brother truly had an invisible friend when he was young and I wrote this many years ago but still haven't let my Brother read this as we all promised never to mention Peter again to him. Hence friendly young ghost!
Twas the month of December
When Humans went mad
To the shops they all bustle
Armed with their bags
Not a hush nor a whisper
As they head for the stores
Tongues simply snarling
With words which aren't pure!

Watched from the Heavens
The Saints scratch their heads
On Earth it’s the season
For joy so it said!
Instead they go shopping
To push and to shove
Then they send Christmas cards
To their neighbours with love?

They were dumbfounded
By the Humans display
All the commotion
For this great blessed day!
When will they realise
Christmas on Earth
It’s a time for celebrating
Of Our true Saviours birth!

Each Christmas time this is how I feel whenever I go shopping, that's why I wrote this poem tonight. I hope each of you have a peaceful Christmas without the bustle of the shops :) Lynn
On my list for Christmas
Is what I’d like to do
I know this isn’t possible
As it’s purely just for you!
I hope one day we’ll meet again
And never, ever part!
Until that day I’ll carry you
Forever in my heart!

Happy Christmas Miss Rae

In the deep forest lined up in a row
Pine trees await as it’s their time to go
Squirrels all scurry as the people arrive
Birds flock together way up in the skies!

In no time at all the trees were all taken
But left all alone, one tree was forsaken
He bent his head and wept on the ground
Then all of the creatures gathered around!

“What can we do? A field mouse declares
He’s all alone looking sullen and bare.
Perhaps this young Pine is here for a reason
To give us a treat on our Christmas season!”

Each of the creatures then rushed to his aid
Baring their gifts, on the floor which they laid
Birds gathered straw, hedgehogs curl tight
For tinsel and baubles so pretty and bright!

Then all of God’s creatures started to pray
Giving their thanks for their gift on this day!
Now deep in the forest a bright star does shine
To adorn overhead on a much treasured Pine!

I wrote this quite a long time ago but thought I'd share it for each of you for Christmas. Merry Christmas with love ***
May all of your tomorrows
Be gentle and so kind
To take away the yesterday
Tears from all mankind
Also may your paths be straight
Even when they’re narrow
So you can tread with confidence
Where evil dare not follow!

This is just to wish you all
The best for the New Year
May health and love be plentiful
With lots of happy tears!
As bells ring out at midnight
I lift my glass up high
And toast my memories of the past
For the sake of Auld Lang Syne!
