Numb

Consuming devastation
as if it's life-giving bread
Flesh, a merciless master
Ineffectual thoughts sway my head

With each indulgence
the captor becomes more emboldened
Betraying the true master
to whom I'm beholden

Surrender comes easier
with each new concession
Just one more link
in the chain of spiritual recession

Slaking every desire
as the senses grow cold
While the battle rages
between body and soul

One will be nurtured
the other put under thumb
Sin is spiritual Novocain
just making me numb

Your trying to heal from a broken heart

Just thinking about it rips you apart

Every day you run across something

That reminds you of what happened

Its like a tragic accident

That next time you will try to avoid

A guy who wants to treat you like a queen is constantly being annoyed

Your wanting to rock with him but your warm soul has been destroyed

You have failed to move on from a worthless fellow

Who is selfish in a way that he know he lacks

He as no intention of correcting his mistakes or running back

He claims there wasn't a enough
trust and commitment

But your was the only one who had put efforts forwards it

He told endless lies, but had so much pride

That's a shame to know you was the only one committed

He was Trifling,selfish,and childish

If loyalty is your name there is no game

When I started this poem I was so full of anger it's amazing how we can find peace in poetry...

I taste your tongue against my cheek.
I feel your hands on me; one tucked ever so gently under my ear the other wrapped around my waist.
I see nothing but black as I focus on you.
I hear my gentle moan, our rocking feet.
I touch the small in your neck the base of your hair between my fingertips.

And as I come to my senses I realize none of it was real in the first place. Was it?
