Purple Rain
If I could write one poem
fit all the emotions in
Then would everybody be perfectly fine
And not considered themselves a sin

Would life be much easier,
Time wouldn't be spent crying,
We wouldn't lie to ourselves,
because we'd be able to face reality
Without dying

If there was only one path,
instead of two
Would we be going the right way?
Would we need to pray?
that this wouldn't be a endless path?
that the path would stop,
Yet
What if exhaustion we were caught up in?
Would we died before the path ends?
And the path we were trying to walk on,
Would others be following,
behind the foot steps of you?
- Just a question

We sleep
So our darkest thoughts
Can be passed off
As nightmares

Column by column the legions' feet
march disciplined down Watling Street,
followed by rumbling carts and grumbling
stragglers leaving villas crumbling.

To Rome to save the imperial home,
making Britain an enterprise zone
for Saxons, Vikings, Celts and Angles,
savage battles and local wrangles.

Weeds weave tapestry around a tomb.
Dust encrusts a silent Roman room.
Mosaics stare at the rotted roof.
Painted plaster falls, jigsaw proof.

Perhaps when shopping centres fail,
and motor cars no more prevail,
when wattle homes are reinvented,
then thinking time will be augmented.

If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you
If you want a partner
Take my hand
Or if you want to strike me down in anger
Here I stand
I'm your man
If you want a boxer
I will step into the ring for you
And if you want a doctor
I'll examine every inch of you
If you want a driver
Climb inside
Or if you want to take me for a ride
You know you can
I'm your man
Ah, the moon's too bright
The chain's too tight
The beast won't go to sleep
I've been running through these promises to you
That I made and I could not keep
Ah but a man never got a woman back
Not by begging on his knees
Or I'd crawl to you baby
And I'd fall at your feet
And I'd howl at your beauty
Like a dog in heat
And I'd claw at your heart
And I'd tear at your sheet
I'd say please, please
I'm your man
And if you've got to sleep
A moment on the road
I will steer for you
And if you want to work the street alone
I'll disappear for you
If you want a father for your child
Or only want to walk with me a while
Across the sand
I'm your man
If you want a lover
I'll do anything you ask me to
And if you want another kind of love
I'll wear a mask for you

I'll go to the gym
Then come home

In the morning
I think I'll pack a lunch

And I think
I'll spend
A day at the park

You know
I just don't care
If I'm always poor

This country is doomed
Anyhow

I am a loving person
And It's not that fair
That I spend so much
Time alone

But life is never fair

I spent alot of hours
At the gym
Never got a great body

I'm content
To be misunderstood
Ignored by the world

Looking at attractive women
As I walk around the park

Yes, this is earth
This is life on earth

Mum asked me
If "I had a nice day"

What is a nice day?
I dislike the word "nice"
It is a meaningless adjective

Sounds like something
A mind control subject
Would say

I just say it was fine

And I don't even care
If they threaten to kick me
Out of here

I'll keep the key
To the house

I'm going to live in
The park

I joked with my therapist
About that you know

About living in a park

She used to say
My poems were beautiful

She left me
And her other clients

I enjoyed seeing her
It was enjoyable
She left me

I think
She left me
And I'm leaving society

Forgot a job
And money
I do not care

I am content
To wander here and there

Time alone is for me
I expect no sympathy

I guess
I'll go reading
Tomorrow in the park

I may sit there
Until it's dark

Liz my therapist she
Went Away

Now nature is my friend
I like trees, okay?
