Rain, to me, is calming,
Its my safe space when the world gets too alarming.
I gaze in a trance as its falling,
From late night to the earliest morning.
Every drop that lays on my skin,
Seep into layers within.
I let it roll down my body,
How it finds my porcelain skin,
Welcome it as if its a lobby.
I let it sit between my knuckles,
I pretend it washes away my troubles.
I whisper to the rain cloud my deepest struggles,
And allow it to fall on me in bundles.
It proceeds to dampen my hair,
As if without a single care.
It clings on for life,
As there is a swoop of ghostly cold air.
It drenches my eyebrows,
Drops cling onto eyelashes below.
In my opinion, I prefer it to brother snow.
The sound reminds me of home,
A place where the sea foams.
Taking a quick waltz around my favourite town,
Enjoying and embracing the sound,
Of the sweet, blissful rain.
I wrote this late at night after having a fight with my friends. To calm myself down, I listened to some rain sounds and pictured myself walking in the rain. Enjoy!
