In the patience of the seed,
In the life waiting hushed beneath the snow,
In the longing of the night for dawn,
In the tiny tendril peeking through
a pavement crack,
In the little boy's terrified heart as she opens his note in class,
that wonderful thing: hope.
For the young man who said earlier today, 'write something nice and positive about hope'
Sometimes depression looks like you
Depression can look like me
it can also look like nothing
Depression is not something you see

who spoke like lovers
and we try our best

with false *assurances

he used his senses to define her
with every stroke, firm and definite
turning curves into angles,
spaces into holes,
flaws into perfection

she was his world
she was his art

but little did he know
that she's suffocating
she never wanted to be his world
she only wanted to be part of *it

Jessica
Fragile.
So very delicate.
Like the Angel placed at the top of the tree.
She watches over everyone, and makes sure they are okay.
She makes sure everyone is happy and safe.
There is no one to watch over her.
She is too fragile.
