Independence Day Is Something More (repost)

Independence day, a day to celebrate the birth of a nation and those who fought and currently fight to keep it free.
It is something more at least to me ,it don't have to be limited to just the forth of July
We can have Independence day any day
When some one gets victory over Alcohol or drugs, it is an Independence Day
When someone breaks free from abuse, it is an Independence Day
When troops come home after war and get to be back in their loved ones arms, it is an Independence day
When the Lonely finally make a friend, it is an Independence Day
When the Prodigal returns to a loving family after years or being away, It is an Independence Day!
When emotional chains finally break loose, it is Independence Day
May the rockets blaze across the sky, raise the banners high
It is Independence Day!!!

The Vessel (repost)

The Vessel
A wounded vessel tossed about in the storms of life
The vessel was once strong unshaken by the wind sure and secure in itself and about life
The once strong vessel is wounded again feeling hurt angry insecure ashamed lonely
Overwhelming blows of feelings hitting the vessel the pain is intense the memories of abuse are
Strong a blow to the heart and emotions
A cry out for assistance I cry out for the captain’s help in facing the crisis I look at the holes in the vessel
I ask for support from friends and groups etc. to help me repair the vessel to make it strong again
The vessel is not the same as it once was but there is hope that one day it can be better than it is now
The vessel is being mended and is getting stronger for the first it’s experiencing sunrises and sunsets that it has never seen before
Maybe it can be made stronger than it ever was and sail towards peaceful shores

I wrote this some time back and recently found it on my computer.

Take Time

Take time to smell the roses
too soon their fragrance will be a distant memory
Take time to enjoy their beauty before they wilt away

Take time to enjoy life because the years pass too quickly
remember every minute and every hour is a gift
We are not promised tomorrow
  so make every second count
  Take time to count every blessings count them double or triple
   If you focus on your blessings your problem's seem less
   therefore you can ease some anxiety and stress

   Take time to enjoy the company of loved ones
   while they are here
   Take time creating precious memories with those who are dear to you
   keep them always near in  both your thoughts and heart

   Take time to learn something new
    Take time to cheer up someone who's feeling blue
    Seeing that person smile can brighten your day and theirs too
    A little cheer can go a long ways
    Take time to have a positive outlook with few regrets
     try not too waste too much time on trivial fretting
     Take time to live your life to the best of your ability
      Take time to discover your talents and shine in a way unique to You!

I say I'm done
with being treated like ****
because I'm a human
and I deserve respect
but I still get surprised
when I'm treated right
and I apologize
when I've done nothing wrong
but I do stand up for myself occasionally
so that's something
