I stand around a corner.
Feeling like a loser.
Listening in to the one I call ‘friend’.
The next day
I talk to them.
They say they are mad.
I ask why.
They say I should own my mistakes.

We are renters
Living off leased land
Never land owners
Years of finances poured into revolving doors
