Time after time, her paper wings were torn.
Rustling, cruelly clipped by circumstance
She moved and so did they
broken and crumpled, stunted by misfortune.
But hope was not lost, for she knew
Paper could be smoothed
It could be taped, it could be
Reshaped.
Against the dying breeze she beat her creased papers
Rising up
creating a Storm behind her, with
the power of her need to fly
Time after time, her paper wings were torn
And yet, she flew on

My life in photographs,
They're messing with my head
I wonder how I got to lying here in bed.
I feel much older now
Yet I am still so young
They say it's good for you!
I have to bite my tongue
Don't tell me that it's easy
As I can't stand to fight
I'll run for hours but no wings means there's no flight.
Take me home again
I can't take any more
I wish someone could see but I just locked my door

My mind is full to burst as I stare at empty space
I try to bury it
But I still see your face
You're looking up at me and screaming 'Why did you?
Leave me for dead because your world was falling through?'
I have no answer but a selfish plea for peace
I tried to bind myself but could not tame the beast

Maybe I should have just put up with my own strife,
At least then one of us would have a better life
My lack of feeling would have surely took it's toll
But as an empty shell, why not just play the role?

Take me away.

Bring me back to life.

Days feel longer still and the nights seem old,
My hand it touches glass that bars my way,
I sit and see the winter winds blow cold,
Dreaming now of a closer coming day.
Hands soft with need and want will lift the gloom,
The world is gone we're buried in this den,
I'll see your smile sing back into this room,
Nights young with lips and laughter once again.
My heart it beats so sweetly for your own,
To kiss me now would make me weaker still,
A weakness that forever I'll condone,
Those lips that flame my passion, aim to thrill.
'I love you so,' my thoughts forever sigh,
You are the star, my life an endless sky.
