choreograph fake rain
Zac Carlson Jan 2015
In these times
Looking back at her in such great distress
Backing up sitting down breathing heavy now I rest
Walking through numb recollections
Impressions on the mind in every single action

Choreograph fake rain
Blood running from my swollen vein
Sweat running down my face
All because I’m thinking of her taste

Show number one is playing on the big screen
Reminiscing laughter together
And what I’m now missing
Tears dripping down no need to act out this pain
Good for them I’m thinking
Spare them from this place
Learning everyone can use a little amazing grace
This foundation I laid
Slipping on the mud in this heavy rain
Rain will come rain will go
But this bottom wasn’t meant to hold
I’m a soggy wash up
In need of a new resting place
One that shows number two on the big screen

Stuck in a daze just another phase
pushing through the maze just to get through the days
I won’t forget you only remember
Just moving on to find a new member
Mutual love will cease my shaky temper

You are a curious fleshy navigator
Explorer of mind and world

You are a synapse searcher
A hemisphere lurker

You are a voiceless idea
An unopened potion

You are beautifully blurry
An ambiguously cryptic existence

You reach my extremities
A nice warm flow

You burst from my body
The only existence I know

Lake Superior Mermaid
Zac Carlson Feb 2013
I knew a girl who is a lake superior mermaid
Fresh water pearls, never a diamond ring
A north shore vagabond -
lake shore queen with no need for a king
Swims with the users of the bottom as a bed
I knew a girl who is a lake superior mermaid
The lake that never gives up its dead.

Rise Today
Zac Carlson Feb 2013
I rise from smooth bright rays on the good days
On the lesser days I have to know
The sun still shines bright behind dark clouds

Rays burn ******* my wet skin
The warmth is all I have when wearing so thin

Today I am washing away
Memories in my mind
That couldn't always find the way

Now the radio reads afternoon
But I can’t tune
It's fuzz
If I can’t find it, who does?

I close my eyes and hand over my day to my bed
Dreams a sweet gift for my troubled head

Morning comes
It’s a new fight
Confident the sun’s going to shine bright
