wrapped in shadows,
who are you when the light of day evaporates
and the cool evening air
beckons you to run recklessly
under the moonfire sky?

what does the midnight stillness stir in you?
does it beg for the search
of a new beginning somewhere,
a budding, brash adventure
before the break of day?

for the night carries me echoes
of your trailing laughter
streaming out behind you on the wind
as you run forever
just outside the edge of my sight.

She of moonfire
Entranced by her sleeping prince
Hands on heart, serene

This haiku is dedicated to Selene, Goddess of the Moon.
I love Selene for many reasons but what cemented my love for her was none other than Sailor Moon!
I love how their story is depicted in the manga and anime, Usagi and Selene will always have a special place in my heart.
Of course I grew up with the myth of her crushing ******* Endymion, Zeus granting her wish to keep the Shepard ageless while in eternal sleep and she sired 50 daughters which really weirded me out. So Ive somewhat rewritten the myth in mind.
Even so, Im grateful for Selene.
As much as I'm a logophile and biblophile , I'm very much a selenophile ^-^

Much love,

Pale lights
Strike down around me like moonfire
I wonder how they're doing
I wonder how they're doing

Will my words someday
Be enshrined in the tombs
Of thousand letter books
Where will I be then

And will they embalm me
In book awards and fame
I don't think so
I'm not all that much
I''m not all that special
Yeehaw,
