When in dark despair drowned
I was thinking, joy was nowhere around
A gentle breeze from the upland peaks
Came and patted on my cheeks

Softly whispering- ‘joy is here’

When the last ray of hope had been snuffed out
From the vapid plane of my arid heart,
A cluster of orchids, beautiful and gay
Smilingly nodding their heads on my way

Sweetly murmured- ‘joy is here

When I feared the earth was caving in
Under my feet with no chance to win
A butterfly with rainbow colors
Alighting on a bunch of flowers

Euphoniously hummed- ‘joy is here’

When all my yearnings got shattered
And sustenance alone was what mattered
The blazing sun from behind the hills
Wiping away all morbid chills

Affirmed beaming-‘joy is here

When I thought I was drifting afloat
Without any moorings on my boat
A crystal drop precariously balancing
On the serrated edge of a leaf dancing

Confidently chimed-‘joy is here’

When darkness settles on the scene
When life loses all tinge of green
When days seem inert and grey
Don’t be in a hurry to say

“Joy is nowhere around”

Before you jump to conclusions dismal
And write off life as abysmal
Wait to see the cycle of seasons change
From winter’s haze to spring’s lovesome range!

Sagaciously gloaming melanite eyes
Resonating euphoniously ululated memories;
The shadow land of illusion
Rising out of the ash of an acorn
Wallowing in the blood of wars strident refuge,
Gnomic relics errant of an
Enigmatic almondine heart
Offering an olive branch upon an
Altar made of oak.
A ruminantly nostalgic requiem
Sedititiously traversing the firmament;
Ineluctable reprobation
Ineffably manifested,
The doves of meta-morphosis
Embracing the silk garments of love;
Sound minds cacophany
Devouring the delusional devout
Veridically inspiring ascendancy
Decieving serenities whisper throughout
The dominions audaciously
Rousing ambivalent fears.

'Twas in early days of time,
In a very far away clime,
When there lived a man, Daniel,
Whom many thought he'd never be we'll;

When by flint-hearted men's wish
Was doomed to languish
In a peculiar lion's den,
Him alone without his men.

But, by faith's sake, Daniel didst vow
To the wicked he'd never bow;
But instead in perpetuum serve
He who dwells yonder skies above.

He thus lifted up his poor head,
And through the sullen night prayed.
Hark! He who reigns above ancient skies,
vividly heard his son's far cries;

He (God) thus shook his head,
And in a voice soft but cold said:
"Nay, nay, thou shalt wilt not to the wrath
Of neither men nor any beast's mouth."

At this, in a blink of an eye
Winged seraphs descended from the sky,
Galloping upon snowy snowy stallions,
Came and zipped all mouths of the lions.

This grieved Satan in violent fires of Hell,
Thus louder than a thousand bells didst yell
Unto his lions to wreck strife
Upon Daniel's meaner life.

Alas! Not a single lion opened her mouth
Despite their eyes exuded mist of wrath.
'Tis then it dawned unto Satan he'd lost,
Hence grew sad as leaves 'neath the frost.

When the dawn Sun was nigh, "Darius",
Who all night prayed by light of Sirius,
In a helter-skelter dash dashed to the den
To see what had happened to Daniel then.

"Daniel, Daniel, Daniel
Could thou still be well?"
Sheepishly, king Darius softly cried.
"Oh yes I am, my Lord." Daniel replied.

When Daniel's voice pierced Dariu's ear,
'Twas joy as joy could be to hear
That in a jiffy dungeon's doors flung free,
And the entire realm buzzed with glee.

Darius thus ordered blowing of trumpets
That quaked all mortal men and Puppets
Whilst everyone to Daniel's mighty king,
Sweet songs euphoniously didst sing.

May God protect ye like Daniel,
Whom many thought he'd never be well
When angels of death coveted his breath,
But gleefully strolled out of jaws of death.

Written on hearing some heart-rending news from a friend (SoulSurvivor) that her lovely Dad's health is not good.
I don't know which prayer I can pray
but all I can say:
"May the Almighty predominant, omnipotent, Omniscient, Benevolent Lord beyond compare cast heavenly protection unto him like he didst unto Daniel."

If you asked me to show you God, I would not read you the bible,

Or the Quran or the Vedas or the Torah or anything with a holy title,

I would not take you to a temple and I would not point to the sky,

I would not even tell you to look in your heart, because that would be a lie

Instead, I would take you to the subways in the heart of New York City,

and I would point at the violin player playing so euphoniously without self pity,

I would take you to California and give you a tour of the high tech laboratory,

and introduce you to engineers working the next chapter of the human story

Or maybe, we would fly to the slums of Brazil where it so nice and warm,

And see the 12 year old zooming past 10 kids with a ball, a legend is born,

Or we could visit the villages of India, where time is not the same it is now,

And we could see the women, using magic to make food that is sure to wow

You might ask what the point of all this is, and what this has to do with God,

And I will tell you that God is made up of many peas and this world is the pod,

And you will think I am crazy but will look at the world with new admiration,

Because it is only with this perspective, that the world can reach true salvation

my eyes both rapidly cycling and softly meditating,
my mythical equilibrium both scratching at the surface,
and tucking itself in for the night.

somewhere distant
but not far,

your lungs are the lantern in my attic-shaped heart,
maintaining a hushed illumination
and a delicate snowfall,
euphoniously humming a reliable tune,
foreshadowing cozier winters
of hope and comfort.
