Falling slowly,
Through eyes that know me
I can't go back
Words fall through me
And always fool me
And I can't react
And events that never
Amount to more than they're meant will always play themselves out
I don't know you
But I want you
All the more for that
Take this sinking boat
and point it home
We've still got time
We would create beautiful memories
Even through sad ones
If we hold hands
Raise your hopeful voice
And make a choice
I know you will...

A smile is such a lovely thing especially upon your face;
Behind it a glimpse of grimace
none can trace
hiding all the sorrows or simply taking their place.
A kindly spoken word means so much when it's from you,
Sending comfort when the heart is blue
Your touch can make a heart dance in pretty fast-paced clips
when I hear the melody in your voice I'm wowed by it's unconquerable grips.
A smile, a word, a song, a touch – seem small little things
Your ecstatic vibe I'm grateful to always find;
Lock your hands in mine
and peace will fill my mind...

If you can be the friend you 'need'
If you can agree to disagree
If you can choose love and peace over being 'right'
If a pal's apology doesn't inflate your pride
If you can listen more than you speak
If you can give without expecting a seek
If you can forgive and let go of the past
If you can be present and make love last
If you can see the good in others' ways
If you can embrace each new day
If you can find the lesson in every fall
If you can stand up and give your all
If you can hold space for another's pain
If you can offer kindness like harmattan rain
If you can be gentle with a friend's heart
If you can play your part
If you can laugh together, cry together too
If you can build each other up, see each other through
If you can create memories that never fade
If you can be a safe and loving shade
If you can grow, adapt, and evolve with grace
If you can find the beauty in a changing pace
If you can trust the journey, come what may
If you can cherish friendship every step of the way

If I could write words
Like leaves in a dry forest,
What a wildfire my letters would make;
If I could voice out
My thoughts like full grown trees,
What a lovely shade they would provide;
If I could sing
Like free birds perusing the sky,
The melody will make you fly;
If I could speak words
As water,
You'd float or drown when I say
