"afray" poems
I'm picking litter
To clear out the litter in my head
To clear out what was said
With a robot arm
I mean you no harm
It's a mental need
To sow new seed
The needs of the planet
Are called out by the Goddess Tanit
Let's gather more litter
And afray from being bitter

Sitting 'round, eyes on the ground
There's more to know each minute
I listen to the lovely sound
And adore all that is in it
Suddenly, a bit of ***
And everyone's awash
Desperate for something free
I waddle to the wash
Just before the open door
A deepness in my back
I tumble down, my life a frown
Then everything is black
Another day, my jeans afray
A ticket by my side
It says "Hey Nick, don't show your ****
I crumbled down and cried
Now I know, there's no more show
In here it's all mundane
In my cell, my life is hell
My heart full of disdain
I wonder why, my life's awry
And gone into the deep
Then I hear, there's no more fear
My ***** I must keep

Frozen stem
Frozen jem
Loud crack step
Loud crack prep
Snowy hill
Snowy thrill
Kids on trays
Kids afray
Snow goes away
Sky still grey
Ice starts to form
Ice becomes norm

Building a deathbox for the enemy to find
Concealed entrance, lethal aid inside for being so unkind
Not to big, not to small
Evil body shaped for evil to crawl
To meet their destiny
Revenge for the fall
We tried non-lethal but lethal aid is the way
To stem the fight
To stop the afray
Checking inside for the number killed
Is a bloodthirsty task, an uneasy chill
Removing the bodies is an arduous task
Left out for the red-kite
The dinner table is vast
Reset the mechanism, conceal the top deck
Ready for the next wave
Ready to wreck

The answer is not on your phone..
So stop staring at it in your zombie zone
There is nothing there to see
Nothing there to help your life feel free
We go from day to day
Looking down, nothing new to say
Lost on the street and in the shops
Blind to nature and blind to clocks
Put that flipping thing away
Stop living in the afray
Look up instead of down
Look forward to life, drop that frown.
