Time, my love, for I have to go
To vanish like a shadow tonight
Returning, I do not know when
For a dark poet soul fades away

If you should dream of me
I will come, walk through your dreams
Embracing you with sweet memories
But for now, this is only a brief goodbye

Fond submission remains in your eyes
Alas, my dear, I wish I could stay
But do not allow your heart to break
I belong to the night of a thousand words

I carry with me the touch of your body
The knowledge of every part of your flesh
An ageless beauty forever in my mind
Remember me, until we meet again

I died for Beauty—but was scarce
Adjusted in the Tomb
When One who died for Truth, was lain
In an adjoining room—

He questioned softly “Why I failed”?
“For Beauty”, I replied—
“And I—for Truth—Themself are One—
We Brethren, are”, He said—

And so, as Kinsmen, met a Night—
We talked between the Rooms—
Until the Moss had reached our lips—
And covered up—our names—

Sometimes in life we don't have
A fixed place to live
We have to move on
Leaving behind
Our friends
Our place
Our home
Everything becomes memory after that
But a beautiful memory
Missing my place
Missing my friends
We have to adjust for a
New routine
New friends and
New climate

upon being invited to add to a collection here called Brokenness
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
He he
** **
Ha ha
it has been awhile
that I recv'd an invitation
to add to anything
or join a club,
just like Groucho (Marx)
worth being invited to...
but when yours arrived,
I chuckled and jived,
for this broken biz
be an area of expertise,
about which I gladly can opine,
since most of which I contact,
is inevitably in that state demised,
marriage, children and other trifles
so to the topic at hand, let say but this,
if not eloquently, then perhaps,
gravely, for that is where the
broken pieces oft call home
or cemetarily. a final resting place...
perhaps you were unaware,
there are 449 poems in attendance,
where the word brokenness
doth appear
in this sanctuary of broken children
and adults too,
easy discovered in the memory of
Hello Poetry
but this will not be, I hope, the
four hundred and fiftieth
as I decided to nomenclature this oeuvre
as Brokeness, with but a single N,
since a good N
can be hard to find,
why use two
when one will do?
if a faithful ecrivant thee be,
you won't be shocked that there are
so many Brokenness in this world,
the dictionary doth recognize its multiplicity
as a word legit, accepting as a plurality*
brokennesses!
which is a whole lot of broke
so let us poets to the process repair,
with a tikkun here, a tikkun there,
a tikkun everywhere
so that the healing never ends
and that someday we will delete
all words of humanity in disrepair,
let the broken be the unbroken,
and let's all say amen
and get started...
Wikipedia
Tikkun olam (Hebrew: תיקון עולם or תקון עולם[1]‎) is a Hebrew phrase that means "repairing the world" (or "healing the world") which suggests humanity's shared responsibility to heal, repair and transform the world. In Judaism, the concept of tikkun olam originated in the early rabbinic period. The concept was given new meanings in the kabbalah of the medieval period and has come to possess further connotations in modern Judaism.[2]
you could travel to india.
you could hop on a plane
and end up something like
10,000 miles away from here
in the middle of the rain forest
overlooking a beautiful waterfall,
the mist kissing your cheeks just
the perfect amount to remind you
that you're loved by Mother Earth.
you could do that. sure, you could do that.
or you could dig a really big hole,
i'm talking about a massive hole
that you could start to climb down in
and work towards reaching the center of the earth,
running into all sorts of mythical creatures:
demons and demigods, demogorgons and dugtrio.
you could get way way deep down there
and find that in the center of it all is
Indra's net, and all of a sudden
everything in the universe makes sense.
and it would make sense. and you'd be right.
or you could realize it all
right here and right now.
you could understand that
going anywhere out there
really doesn't take you anywhere.
you could see that by going anywhere
you prove that you don't quite understand
the point of what you are doing.
you're putting lipstick on a pig.
you're restating the directions
instead of just following them.
"Bake the cake at 450 for 10 minutes" becomes
"Cook the pastry one degree above 449 for 600 seconds."
the truth is that you've got every right to do that.
it's just that one way or another
you don't eat unless the cake gets baked,
and it doesn't matter how many ways you read the instructions,
you've still gotta put it in the oven and wait.
but here, let me preheat that for you...
Storms..floods..earthquakes..bushfires...Global warming..
Leaving devastation and destruction in its wake
We can't treat this planet like **** no more
It's high time we awake
We are robbing birds and animals of their natural habitat
I guess most of the natural disasters that mankind has been facing over the years is Nature's way of saying.. *** for tat
Cutting trees.. Building concrete jungles..Pouring wastes into the rivers and seas and oceans
We really are hellbent on destruction
We are creating a dangerous future
When will we realize it?
It's not too late for us to mend our ways
Coz if we don't then I'm afraid we'll be staring at darker days
For once we should try and abandon our arrogance and ego
Let's give Mother Nature the respect she deserves and watch her put on a show
i have the most painful urge to dance
specifically all around the room
specifically on cold wooden floors, sock footed
specifically with you
perhaps with the lights off
and light up stars on the ceiling
you see, i have been making a playlist
(of all the songs i want to dance to with you
at 449 songs, it would take us 1.2 days to listen)
please don’t ask me about it
or what I want to come out of it
because I want more than I am allowed to
and there is no way that I could pick and choose
which of those things to tell you
but if I had to pick a single thing to ask for, from you
it would be for one day, full:
(a morning coffee, a long car ride, a foreign coast, something read aloud to me, the press of two shoulders, two palms, maybe a handwritten poem left behind by a ghost, a smile, a sunlit floor, an afternoon dancing until the glow of the sunset fades into evening and a night under two sets of stars, one plastic, and one infinite, no goodbyes)
just a goodnight, and a good morning.
The universe is pulsing,
beating and growing,
a heartbeat quickening
to vast to be understood
but still sickly constricting
as if time and space is convicting
me of crimes I have yet to commit
and some sins man has not yet
gotten around to inventing.
So, I am venting pulsars of pain
that rotate out and around then
back in again.
My black hole dilations
greedily absorb all of the light,
and space flotsam,
never returning anything.
Unending, beyond comprehending,
still I keep bending my mind
in strange contortions
to understand humanity’s
and spacetime’s weird distortions.
Outside my window
my unrequited loves waits,
a summer world lit aflame
dances deep in space,
and in love I burn the same.
Outside my window the world breathes
with lovely limbs swaying
in this warm sunny day breeze,
with all those plant particles
that make me cough and sneeze,
but I am still pleased
to see all this outside beauty.
Outside my window children play,
wandering in random ways
working and reacting on instinct,
creating and destroying realities
right there before me.
Outside my window are a million stories,
some written, some soon to be
someone’s great discovery,
some fantasies, others slightly altered
perceptions of reality.
Outside my window lay all possibilities,
to be hates and rejected,
loved and respected,
or feel the world’s indifference
in reference to some
preference for apathy.
