Call me Old Soul
For I have come long and far
An incorporeal Traveler
A human spirit drifting beyond mortal bars

Once I knew of form
Felt the warmth of Sun on skin
But then my Life and World ended
My eternal Soul this trek to begin

In wake of Great War's destruction
My mind survived intact
And freed of a Body's limits
I fled Earth's Tomb never to look back

Passing beyond the Sky I reached the cosmic pale
And journeyed its Infinite Path through deep black void
Discovering worlds and witnessing endless cycles
Life born, life evolved, life destroyed

Sometimes I entered entities
Lurking within Consciousness unknown
Experiencing vicariously their joys and sorrows
The sharing of such my sweet gold

Always however my Wandering resumed
For the lure of Space was too strong
I found I craved the Freedom it gave
And as Impassioned Pilgrim moved on

Through my Span of Millennia and galaxies
I have read the Universe's story
I have raised the Veil to touch the mien
Of a Vast and Exquisite glory

Continuing on I shall discern new horizons
As the Depths of Existence I chart
Enduring therein as a Timeless observer
A spirit dancing lightly across the stars
I wrote this both from a dream and a deep desire to transit space freed of all physical constraints.  I hope it touches those who feel likewise.

I close my eyes and at once its mute echo chimes
I listen and interpret the lush lilting lyricism
Of nature's sultry emerald chanteuse
As the chorus of everyday cacophony subsides a subtler sonnet is crafted
And upon the lyre of thoughtful psyche a cord profound is struck
I open my heart to the wordless whisper of Creation's vital hymn
I fete my soul and intuit the soft sensual throb of infinity's passionate pulse
I clear my mind of mundane traffic
To yield a higher concentration expansion
That the exquisite rhapsody of hush may be relished without clutter's jam
I close my eyes and its womb of calm envelops me
Content I reside at the aphonic court of its vast placid empire
The eloquent serenade of its sublime soundless concert
Steeps me in its solace
The still deep music of silence the sweet unbroken score
Of Pax's savored measure
I wrote this poem in celebration of nature's quiet beauty and the insight peace and comfort it always brings me.  Stop take a deep breathe and reflect.

Phoenix I
I set myself aflame to purge myself of sin
The fire sears me deep beneath my *****'s skin
Yet cannot heal the scars that bleed the heart within
I seek for peace of mind to still my sorrow's din
Alone I've wandered years a Cain of restless path
Blind from acid tears beset by storms of wrath
But neither miles or time can my missteps rescind
The faith of Job is lost drowned in scalding rain
The ghosts of dreams abound of **** by folly slain
They weep and shriek for grace but rot forsaken in their graves
The shame of failure galls the spirit shrinks and twists
As hope of living palls and perseverance proves a *****
Still I travel on refusing to give in
With strength of will near gone I find my inward wind
Though an orphan scorned by luck I am of phoenix grain
However oft I fall to dust from blaze of bones I rise again
