If you blame me for being
a monster,
You must first know what made me this way.
I wasn't born into it.

Tonight
There is
A lone star
Mocking me
To make
A wish
I’m ignoring
His twinkle
In the dark
Because
I know
He won’t
Deliver
I can see the lies in every truth
I feel the hidden pleasure in every bruise
For I too did not get rid of my monsters yet
I befriended them instead
all my life
i've been preparing faces
to meet the faces that
i've met

friends
family
the man who delivers newspapers
at our doorstep each morning

i've laughed at their silly jokes
as they tossed their heads from side to side
in naive stupidity and their sheer ignorance
a pompous lot, the human race i tell you

i've acknowledged their staunch morals
and tried to make them my own
as they scorned at the girl in a skimpy dress
and chewed on mutton bones gluttonously

all my life, i've been trying hard
to blend in
with people who've shown me
that i don't belong with them

and tonight when i shed gallons of tears
i have only my bed and pillow to share
i've learnt that my sadness
is my very own
just a sad girl writing to survive

“Have you ever been in love?”She asked
“I don’t think so,” he replied

If you were in love you would know it
Because it’s different
Different that your average crush
Or your summertime fling

You care so much and you don’t realize what you got yourself into
Until it’s too late
Until you’ve fallen

“I fell in love once,” she said.
He was a kind smart wonderful boy
And I loved him
But he didn’t love me

There’s a reason why we call it falling in love
Not rising
It’s the art of the fall
You don’t know if someone will catch you
you don’t know how bad it’s going to hurt

But sometimes we can be so so careful
And still fall
It is to dance
On spiderwebs
And never know
When we may fall

It is to wander
Through the night
By hidden light
Where shadows call

It is to wonder
At the sky
To wonder if
We know at all

It is to love
Deep in the dark
And never know
Whose name we call

I told you my sins
You sharpened your knife
You took a slice of my life
