Whatever They Call It
Tomwales Jan 2018
Isn't it enough that you woke today, with that same feeling
That vague and yet numb sensation, burst into the life
Same memories of chances you blew or whatever they call it

Yet today you woke aspiring to be what they want you to be
Not what you really live, still sliding down in bedlam
Still looking for that getaway or whatever they call it

Despite the songs of wars and cries from the partying armies
Basking in the euphoria of the materials therein within
Yet to still look to get true happiness or whatever they call it

We are here, still breathing through the rubbles
With tempest minds to strive in this stormy gale.
Still they gather for sovereign or whatever they call it

Creed Of Greatness
Tomwales May 2017
Amidst roving and pondering, appeared a clear portrait of greatness
An imagination that eludes man, with rich thoughts of a fortress
Girded by tides of frequent passages, of whom to bear
A wall with no boundaries or limits, deep-rooted foundations to harden
Yet barricades stand along, the ones to conquer
A fortification every mortal craves to bear, each moment with a record

While kings and mighty men work endlessly to behold,
Toiling day and Night, with sweat and blood, they stood apart for this reward
A ceaseless search for the prized asset, But at what price does this feat come?
Strength and intelligence wrestle, to be or not to be
The mantle of power being exchanged for glory
Glories of celestial hopes, of foretold divine beings
Faiths mankind is yet to bear, but still with a yardstick to present
Has Nature evolves, memories and revelations of heroes never cease

Time after time, yet we still run same race with poles apart
With priceless ego, men converge to fight
The fight for what seem to be theirs
Some miss it, others win it
To live as a villain or die a hero, Men of valor martyred for glory sake

Captured by the pictures of the black and white, false memories prevailed
Crave for good tidings swathed the hungry minds of men
Diverse minds of weaklings and that of great men
They pondered, either vague or carnal
The creed of Greatness lies within the mantle of belief

FOR A LIFETIME
Tomwales Apr 2017
For a lifetime, we have waited for that moment, to behold the deepest deep of wisdom

For a lifetime, the seas, stars and the moon obeyed the rhythm

For a lifetime, years passed, we toiled for what seems to be or not

For a lifetime, we rest without delay

For a lifetime, we crushed our feelings; shouldn’t we let the emotions speak?

For a lifetime, being lost for words, verses become divine

For a lifetime, shall we say our prayers?

For a lifetime, we heed to advice, yet we still defy

For a lifetime, we have passed the tunnel of ages, against the odds of time

For a lifetime, have nature surmounted to the heels of mankind, yet its triumphs

For a lifetime, shall we reconcile?

For a lifetime, we sober for lost thoughts, yet laughter seize our pleasured moments

For a lifetime, we cheer for the happy times, thus the tides continues to change

For a lifetime, we endured the groans of existence, but we always prevail

For a lifetime, wishes come true, hopes are revived

For a lifetime, we are on a timeline

On the Road
Tomwales Dec 2016
We are on the road, deprived of lights, with minds to traverse

Lanes frozen by winter dark, with stormy gales to temper

Devoid of warnings, with many hurdles to contend

In clusters, we tread upon these flinty tracks

Myriad of flames ascend, every being with a fire to bear

Though halts may arise, we keep on moving

Brushes and thorns lies ahead, Yet we push on

An army of young and old sliding on a journey

Bereft of grasp, winds of time steer each mortal

Battered by the tempest, blissful drips of rain rip through

Still Soaked in heavenly drops, sights of a rainbow ensued

Blurred visions are made clear, moments to cherish, never to render

Though tendered by these cold paths, we soar to overcome

In strive we move away from bedlam, amidst cheers, El Dorado beckons

Without grudges, we embrace each other.

The Thrill of Breathing
Tomwales Dec 2016
Sitting at my doorstep, gazing at moving clouds

There came a thought of a story, of a timeline called life

How its changes and waits for no one, making circles that drift humans apart.

Some say life itself is a race, while others say it’s a course

It’s a contest to conquer, a fight that should be won

All depends on the power that dwells within each body

Each soul makes its bid, but the inner power elects

Questions keeps rising, is it worth the buzz?

What should we make out of this race, an unpredictable series?

Each action being scripted, every scenes being watched

Yet revealing, leaving each soul with a story to tell

Thoughts of unraveling the deepest mysteries engulfs each mortal

Yet they say itself life is a tutor, who can define it better?

An aged mind or rather from a youthful might

It’s like a blindfolded touch on an Elephant; One’s goal might be the other’s discard

Life is what you make of it, each phase set to thrill

Dreams become reality, fading fires are rekindled

Some deigns to surmount, others stand to triumph.
