must our words
cause so much pain
must our words
cause so much shame
must our words

expeditiously
climbing quizzical
stony faces
grasping
slithering
clambering

spent

sweet life again
past parched
unloved lips
into an empty soul
craving
simply
to be quenched

of sacred sounds
"humanity" bereft
of life we have drowned

an afternoon surfing
a whale pod is near
the whales are warning

at just what we've done
tearing pacific asunder
to be so shunned
