Than you think you are
theuniCornpoetry Apr 2016
You wonder what i see in you
with all your perfected flaws
and designed imperfections.
You tell me you're ordinary
but you don't see what I see
that every time I look at you
I see no dismantled almost
but beautiful vows.

"I'm a chaos,"
you tell me.

Indeed,
a beautiful chaos.
I saw you shine,
I saw your light.
It's in the glistening of your eyes
when you talk about something
that happened years ago.

It's in the determination
in your voice
when you argue about something
you believe in.

And even in grief
in your smile,
I see the light the book told us
about sadness
that lasts only for a while
then transcends
to unbreakable fortitude.

No my love isn't blind.
Detour brings different perspective.
Believe me.
You are more beautiful
than you think you are.

There is something
in the way she says goodnight;
Like she's saying her last words,
Like she's saying goodbye.

Do you see the scars on her skin;
The healed burns and the wounds?
Do you see the way
she dances with her body
and speaks with her lips?
Look at the world her own eyes see,
and listen to the music her ears hear.

Who do you think you are
to say you own her?
When she obviously belongs to herself.

Fragmented
theuniCornpoetry Jun 2016
What's good in being in a lot of love,
your body and heart getting explored?
You say they're for experience
but you don't really understand at all.

For merely 10 years of going away and back
from beds of different wild men,
I only know loving a number of them
Is not good at all.

What good is there,
when years after they left you,
they're still hunting your dreams;
Crawling in your sheets like frenzied maniacs.

What good is there,
when you think you're free of them but you're really not,
because living and loving don't seem to fit
so you live half-heartedly not knowing you're only half-alive.

Madness

She talked
about being different
like it's madness
but she doesn't know
it is madness
the world needs.
