Why do you write asked the stranger
why do babies scream I replied

because we will not be silenced.

You can tell us to be quiet
you can put us in cages
you can cause harm to us
but we will not be silenced

I write to express myself
I write to be heard
because no matter what you do
I will not be silenced
Open fields full of graves
some millenniums old
some newer
as we come across more bodies
is it an archeological dig
or grave robbing.
We know one thing
the millions of people
scattered about in these fields
died of war.
200 thousand years
in the history of Earth
no other species as taken more lives
than the HUMAN RACE.
Not the best but the message is clear.. STOP KILLING

If you accept him
a complex formation of every quality
then you have crossed
**life itself
I waited anxiously
For she was to come
And her promise stood.

I was in times of worry
Thinking in bits
Wondering only and only
If she didn't change her mind
I will await
She isn't my sweetheart
But she lives as a favorite
I came to school expecting the worse
                                        Instead...
I got the best thing anyone could want....
                                                                                 I was accepted.......
So a lot happened over the time span of a week and I was expecting to be bullied and teased, but instead I was accepted and loved.

It's midnight in the city, a gently falling rain, just the odd car passing, the distant rumble of a train

I sit here and listen to the creatures of the night, listen because I can't see them, they stay out of sight

One sounds stands out above the rest, continually it's heard. Even in the darkest hours the singing of a bird

I know not what she looks like, is she colourful or drab? Well I don't really care that much because her songs are never sad

All night she sings while others sleep, her songs so loud and clear, bringing happiness in the darkness to all who are there to hear

Why does she sing her sweet refrain through the long hours of the night? Perhaps she sings for those of us who have to stay awake

Then come the early morning light and a mighty choir is heard, no human intervention just a choir of singing birds

It's with reluctance that I must leave this place with the coming of the light. But later I'll be back again to hear her singing through the night
Written one wet night while on security duty and yes she did sing
We've had enough
we want our boys home
there's no need for more dying
on battle fields all alone

These wars stealing lives
and not just of the soldiers
broken hearts of their families
dealing with new burdened shoulders

Dead, disabled
body and spirit
the families cry out ENOUGH
but our leaders don't hear it

Playing their politics
doing so for their profit
the war machine must continue
and reelection first on the docket

They've forgotten the people
the little guy no longer matters
since Citizens United
allowed these politicians new handlers

The ballot belongs to the rich
it's money stuffing the box
and one of these days
we'll find our country on blocks

The smell of elderflower, just like summer in the morning, being disguised by a taste of liquor. Kissing boys at bars, and taking them home with you as if they were napkins from the ladies room, just so you don't have to go to sleep in an empty bed. Then you wake up in one anyway. I don't know why all beautiful people become miserable at some point. Maybe beauty is a burden, or maybe perfect looks goes with an imperfect soul.

One night I found you drunk in the arms of a man holding your body, and I took you home and made you a cup of tea. You cried in my arms, and I held you - my god, I held you and for the first time, someone held you just to hold you. It was like a frozen sea inside of you melted, turning a sharp surface of cold ice into soft, salty waves blissfully kissing the sand. My summer finally returned, and so did the smell of elderflower in the morning.

You may be the lonely one
but you're my only one.
