I’m not sure if she meant to let the ashes fall

malice and indifference can be indistinguishable in certain light

Her lying, perhaps with her words, but most assuredly with her half covered body outstretched

Like a yawning lion in the sun, lazy, but certain

Lit in silhouette, smoke dissipating, along with my resolve, she inhaled.

a fan rotated above the bed.  I tried to lock on and follow a single blade ‘round

But could not keep pace, and returned my gaze to her half shaven leg

Deft at breaking promises to myself, I ran a finger across her shoulder

A wry smile curled across her face as if to say,  ‘why do you bother resisting’

She reached across me for the lighter

Take two brothers of Betrayal
Add them to the cooking ***
Put in some memories of mother
While they sit and watch her rot
Don’t forget her dementia
Your younger brother has to cope
Ignore his pleas for help
Just act like a couple of dopes
Add some tears of sadness
It's the only liquid to use
Youngest brother begins to break
So pour in a dose of blues
Put some salt in the ***
In wounds it makes it hurt
As I do everything for her
I will add my ****** shirt
Stir in all the ingredients
Now add a pinch of madness
Now let it simmer for six years
That's the recipe of sadness

I see the pain behind your eyes
Drowning your hopes for tomorrow
Love will wear many a disguise
To find a way through your sorrow
You feel you’re lonely everywhere
The world to you seems so unkind
All this time no one seemed to care
Your heart will show the light, you’ll find

The truth of your soul comes your way
The mind will only deceive you
Just when it seems you’ve gone astray
You know your troubles will leave you
Call my name I’ll be there somehow
Remember the love you found here
Every day when you need me now
Through the spirit, we are bound here

Falling like a star from the sky
Falling like an autumn leaf does
By your side, till the day I die
This is how falling for you was
You can hold me deep in your heart
You will remember true love’s place
When your world seems to fall apart
Think of me just stroking your face
Our true love is deeper than deep
It takes you from the burning pyre
With a little work, you can keep
The truest love you most desire

Mud, whiskey, death
and bad debts, the river's
high water, mysterious birds
flying south disappearing
like a youngest daughter,
no good men, bad intentions,
changing seasons, unexplained
pains, all of these are reasons
I've seen good women weeping
after the hardest rains came.

It’s not that big a surprise
How much I adore Amsterdam
Like immigrants long ago
So welcomed here just as I am
In the historic Lloyd Hotel
To witness a wedding so swell
I’m glad I’m here in Amsterdam

Canals and bikes aplenty
Whizzing past on every street
The Keukenhof gardens amazed
VanGogh’s Museum made me weep
I’m glad I’m here in Amsterdam

We walked for miles & took the train
Our flight home I made not a peep
It must have been that Space Cake
We ate it and went right to sleep
A fond farewell to Amsterdam
Just returned on a 10-hour flight from Amsterdam to Miami, after witnessing a magical wedding of my niece Karen & Fabian, her now Dutch husband, who shared their vows on a boat ride to the Skinny Bridge where they kissed to seal their love. The' Space Cake' made the plane ride back less painful!
