Jack Jenkins Dec 2016
Under a tree with pen and paper
Thoughts immersed in writing prose
World around her turns to silken vapor
A masterful performance will she compose

Words are her instruments
Ink is her conductor's baton
Graceful art from her fingers
Spill onto the ****** paper

Her mind charges in the tranquility of her surroundings
The peace of the locale soothes her imagination
Focus and clarity like a mountain stream
Refreshment like a volcanic spring

Come and see what she has writ
Queen of poems beauty she emits
Lift her onto your shoulders high
Sing her anthems and crack the sky
Written 11 March 2016... my tribute to my good friend Ultimatepanicqueen. :) Miss talking with you my friend

Rain falling on me
Only under umbrella
Science is broken

Excuse me pretty lady,
I hope you won't mind,
You seem like my type,
And you're quite pretty.

I think I'll flirt with you,
Dance around what I feel,
See how you will react,
To my witty maneuvering.

Wrap my arm around your neck,
Rest a hand on your thigh,
I won't go too far, I promise;
But you're someone I want to know.
Written 11 March 2016... meant to be humorous, so don't take it seriously.

Another night without sleep,
Dawn breaks over the horizon.

Breakfast...
Breakfast without you,
Like trying to eat ash from cigarettes,
Like chewing the food and then spitting it out.

Springtime...
Springtime without you,
Seeing all the animals in pairs,
Sadly reminds me you're not by my side.

Television...
Television without you,
It is not entertaining at all,
It is pointless without you snuggled into me.

Bedtime...
Bedtime without you,
Not embraced in the lover's song,
Not holding each other and saying sweet nothings.

Words...
Words without you,
Entirely meaningless and hollow
Entirely without purpose, impact, softness, or point.

Poetry...
Poetry without you,
Enters a somber grave deep within,
Enters a rest from which it will eternally slumber.

Because I,
Am without,
You.
Written 11 March 2016... another year gone without her...

Like a butterfly
Without her beautiful wings
You are just a bug

I don't think I'd want to leave in a dramatic fashion
With a glorious party full of people giving their best wishes.
I'd think I'd much rather it be totally unknown that I had gone; people still going about, not noticing the lack of me.

I would probably just slip on a coat, a hat, and some glasses and slip out a side door while everyone mingles in large groups.
I would simply melt into the sea of faces walking along the street and become like a drop in the ocean. Indistinguishable.
Written 10 March 2016... this was going to be my last poem.

Pain slathered on like grease,
The pages of my life flip by,
Regret whispers and screams,
My ears bleed at the shrieks.

A demonic companion to stab me in the back,
His blade a soothing sonnet to my flesh,
Symphony and orchestra play the requiem,
Pallbearers filter through closed doors.

I'm laid to rest on a bed of dead flowers,
Walls of agony begin to fracture and fall,
The reaper's scythe sings metallic sins,
And a wraith is born from my death...
Written 10 March 2016... probably one of my darkest poems.

Rain drizzle drazzle,
Down from a hollow sky,
Droplets merge to a puddle,
Puddle forms a new lake,
Children swim and jump in,
Fish fornicate in what you drink,
Lake returns to the sky,
To be rain drizzle drazzle.

Can't carry a cross
Through sin's frosts
In this frozen hell
Under a crystal spell
Trying to stay alive
But I really need a revive
Because I'm taking a nose dive
And I can't contrive
Locked in this wretched maze
Under a demonic gaze
If only I could give You praise
I could see that You always
Amaze
